I heard how Jesus changed other people's lives and I wanted it too.I was a lying stealing cheating arrogant sexually immoral drug-addicted jerk.I wanted to stop hurting others and myself.I asked Jesus to take control of my life;I had made a mess of it.He came and purified my thought-life and heart.I believe the Son of God died for my sins and rose again. Understanding His love I trust Him and give Him control of my life. He transformed me into a new person.Never knew joy like this was possible.

Ask and ye shall receive! I asked Jesus to show me my pride and dishonesty, and He did. Then I asked Him to remove it. Then when I was able to be for real with myself and Him, I asked Him to show me my sin. Then I asked to wash my sin away with His blood. Then I asked Jesus to show me the fears, doubts and scars I had in my heart. Then I asked Jesus to take it away. I could not do any of this myself, I had to ASK HIM to do it. He did. And then HE ASKED ME to tell others what He did for me.

Sorry,I should have clarified I meant man-made doctrines.I was referring to things I see taught in churches that aren't Biblical or important to the Gospel.I do think that the divinity & humanity of Christ should be taught,and the Word being infallible, the suffering of Jesus paid for our sins,and the resurrection should be taught etc.That all speaks of Jesus and I was saying Jesus is the focus of my religion.Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I could have phrased it better.

Replacing Jesus with doctrine and ritual and rhetoric. Jesus is the focus of my religion. I know what you mean though. Lots of people talk about Jesus and go through the motions but don't know Him.

In the end, the choice isn't whether or not to bow, it's whether or not to bow while you are alive. It's not whether or not to humble yourself, it's whether or not to humble yourself before its too late. It's not 'doing this of my own free will versus being forced into it', it's recognizing the only possible positive outcome and working towards that; in other words, it is seeing that Christ is the only way out of the bad situation in which our sin has placed us.
