for 55k this car blows i had a 2001 stage 3 i had it 2 yrs. put 7k miles on it and traded it in on a powerstroke stuck to my pro street 63 ford not the fastest car in the world but faster than this roush and i get a hell of a lot more compliments. Build it yourself for half the price and really own your car. These cars are for guys who want to pay someone else and they take credit for owning a cool car. Hell at least buy a Shelby.!!!

@zx2escortt nope ...
@zx2escortt nope you cant do other mods with that kit. kenne has too much hp for internals
paladain55
@zx2escortt and is ...
@zx2escortt and is there anything else ill need to upgrade to be able to put the power down safely, like cooling or something? im still planning on doing the suspension work but im gettin the gears first for the tuner and gear combo (saves 60$) then the x pipe and then the supercharger and intake. then finally the suspension work

@paladain55 hey man ...
@paladain55 hey man, ive changed up my build a little bit and im hopin you could give me an idea of how much power ill make and if the internals could handle it. im getting a borla stinger catback, magnaflow catted x, 2.1l kenne bell at 9psi intercooled, 3.73 gears with tuner, 90mm meter, big tube kit, switch chip upgrade, cold air kit, and 75mm throttle body. the kenne bell kit comes with a boost a pump and a chip, not sure if chips and tuners are the same or what a boost a pump/spark is either

Kinda funny how 1 year changed performance number in such a big way...

@paladain55 doesnt ...
@paladain55 doesnt sound like a bad start
zx2escortt
@zx2escortt nope. ...
@zx2escortt nope. cold air intake, steeda underdrive pulleys, sct elim chip, and an edelbrock high flow electric water pump should do pretty good. then headers, high flow x pipe, and a catback. those are the only worth while hp upgrades. next would be a supercharger. other mods for 0-60 would be upper and lower control arms, and good tires. then for turns subframe connectors, eibach sway bars, eibach sportline springs, caster camber plates. past that just dont spend to much money
paladain55
@paladain55 even ...
@paladain55 even with the larger cai and an intake?
zx2escortt
@zx2escortt yeah, ...
@zx2escortt yeah, aftermarket throttle bodies and plenums dont give much hp for how much they cost on your model unless you have heads/cams

@zx2escortt im ...
@zx2escortt im saying throttle bodys will only give 1-3 are you on a 99-04 mustang or 05-10?
paladain55
@paladain55 well ...
@paladain55 well wouldnt a cold air intake throttle body plenum combo and intake manifold be much better than just porting? if your only getting 1-3 horsepower
zx2escortt
@zx2escortt its the ...
@zx2escortt its the cheap and jlt says it lets in the most air. to port a throttle body you get smooth sandpaper and sand the inside of the throttle body right up to the blade(not around the blade). porting throttle bodys isnt much of a gain but an aftermarket one isnt much either. like 1-3hp. 5 speed manual transmission, 99.9% sure like all of them come with 3.55 gears, so 3.55 gears to 3.73 wont be much of an increase. our mustang has the 4at with 3.33 gears and a tune for tranny
paladain55
@paladain55 whys ...
@paladain55 whys jlt the best? how much should i port the tb? what gains can i expect and what do you mean by 5mt? i think i have 3.37 gears, but i could be wrong
zx2escortt
@zx2escortt all of ...
@zx2escortt all of it sounds good, but... jlt cold air intake is the best, we've talked to bama when we get custom tunes done, (cheaper too). throttle body, intake manifold, fuel rails, coil packs, and spark plugs will do very little. port your stock throttle body, and get some cmcv delete plates and you get the same gains. we have a lot of what you said but its a big waste of money. but i love your idea on the suspension, and remeber if u have a 5mt youll be going from 3.55-3.73
paladain55
@zx2escortt maximum ...
@zx2escortt maximum motorsports caster camber plate,steeda bumpsteer kit and steeda x2 ball joint kit tokico d spec adjustable strut and shock kit maybe some subframe connectors and maybe control arms. hopin thatll give some good gains. and if i decide to ill move on to a supercharger
zx2escortt
@paladain55 well my ...
@paladain55 well my mod list is in the following order, im ordering a borla catback and steeda shortthrow shifter tomorrow,when i have more money im getting an sf3 tuner and ford racing gears (3.73 or 4.10 dunno yet), then im gettin steeda cold air intake bbk 78mm throttle body edlebrock intake manifold and fuel rails maybe new coil packs, possibly spark plugs and a magnaflow tru x pipe catted. all that is going to be ordered together probably. then h&r supersport springs convertible
zx2escortt
@zx2escortt just ...
@zx2escortt just gonna tell you, upper and lower control arms make a big difference. They completely eliminate wheel hop and help you hook up really well. oh and if you're ever in the market for aftermarket shocks... stay away from non adjustables and go for tokico d-specs. non adjustables are hard as a fricken rock. On the other hand, roush suspension kit on the 427's are very nice if you have the money. very well rounded, nice ride

@paladain55 pretty ...
@paladain55 pretty sick man, im ordering a couple little things for my car sunday, not much for performance but just a small start=)

@zx2escortt yeah my ...
@zx2escortt yeah my dad has track pack suspensions, exhaust, intake, tune, and f1 supercar tires. he can pull over 1g in the corners and 0-60 is about 4.1-4.2

@FidiAdrianosTV boss 302 ftw!
paladain55
@shukiikuhs ...
@shukiikuhs definatly got a point about the gt500 vs gt suspension. but the roush has beat the gt500 around the track on top gear..... personally if it was me though i would be going through just about everything so it could handle power
zx2escortt
@zx2escortt Fact is ...
@zx2escortt Fact is, the GT500 suspension is miles ahead of a GT's. You slap 550hp on a GT and you'll have huge problems. The Roush kit is actually kind of weak. It has shocks struts and sway bars. But the wheel problem with traction and wheel hop lies in the upper and lower control arms. The GT500 has upgraded those (not very much, but still). Tires are a major issue, I would say more of an issue than the suspension itself.
