I've removed the comment. It's no longer there. Sorry if it offended people. I was merely referring to some (many would call racist) comments he made in August 1976 on immigration. I'm not making anything up. I was wrong to condemn the man, pitting these comments against his superb musical skill. I'm stunned I offended more people than it seems Eric's comments in the 70s did. Once again, I'm really sorry. I'm not a hater. I love his music and I was just shocked to read about his 70s outburst!

That's correct. And I've a suspicion I'm the damn fool that suddenly fueled this idiotic debate, which shouldn't have happened. I'd read a few articles online about an out-of-character rant that Clapton spouted many years ago, in which he insinuated the UK was overrun with ethnic minorities. I suppose, in my shock, at only previously forming an opinion of him through his talent, I vented spleen and darkened his name. It wasn't intentional. He is a great performer. To anyone who I offended with this particular comment, I apologise. Honestly and sincerely. I'm not a troll, or a 'fucking jerk'. I was just exercising a needless knee-jerk reaction to a piece of history I was reading while listening to the video. I love Clapton's work. I had no idea of his 'race' rant way back. It just kind of shocked me a bit. His son's death was heartbreaking and it was hideous of me to suggest Clapton was a bad person. I think I'd maybe had one two many beers when I wrote it

I actually can't believe I disliked this song. If it was me that did. I went off on a tangent, after reading about what could be perceived as racial slurs by Eric some time ago. I was shocked, and momentarily felt a little let down, having been a fan of his tracks for years. The circumstances of and legacy of his son's death were horrid and heartbreaking. There was no way I would have ever hoped anyone would thinking that I was suggesting the contrary.
