Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote
Using the infrared camera in the Wii remote and a head mounted sensor bar (two IR LEDs), you can accurately track the location of your head and render view dependent images on the screen. This effectively transforms your display into a portal to a virtual environment. The display properly reacts to head and body movement as if it were a real window creating a realistic illusion of depth and space. By Johnny Chung Lee, Carnegie Mellon University. To all you smart people asking if you need a 3d tv or not, look at the date and ask yourself if 3d tv's were around in 2007:)

Interesting ...
Interesting approach to 3D. I know that you can get a pilots license even if you are missing an eye because binocular depth perception is only effective to 15 feet away. Anything past that and the brain judges the depth of one object by it's relation to other objects. I see a possibility of head tracking mixed with binocular (stereoscope like those found in 3D TVs today) 3D finding it's way into gamers hands one day.

The DS/3DS consoles ...
The DS/3DS consoles are capable of this, but they don't use an infrared sensor, they just track your head for its shape. Although you need to have a single-colored background to use it. Too little games use it, though. For shame.

4 years later... still no games like this. Various motion controllers doesn't count because they don't track your head for pseudo-3D, as far as I know.

@adamsjavon914 no, ...
@adamsjavon914 no, you do not need a 3D TV for this effect. The perspective of the image is generated with your position in mind, but it is still flat (as in "just containing two dimensions of information"), so technically, this would work with anything from a CRT to a smartphone.

Is it possible that ...
Is it possible that an individual can see like that naturally? The internet and tv make me feel crazy? Just curious. Has this technology gotten to the point now where people can mess with you on internet? Also, can the folks on TV track or see yah through the TV somehow? I know this sounds nuts, but I am having trouble reaching a conclusion. Can anyone help?

Does he work for Nintendo now? did Nintendo ever showed any interest? this will work great with a game like Resident evil where you have to look (ie. standing against a wall to look around it.) in stead of running-like-crazy-re4-style.
