Glenn Hughes is so ...
Glenn Hughes is so overlooked and underrated by alot of people.Thats too bad, because he has truly one of the best rock voices of the last 40yrs.Oh,by the way,he just happens to play a mean ass bass. What a package, very rare nowadays.Take care and peace.

Yep, times move on. ...
Yep, times move on....real music was 'back in the day', that's for sure. Have a listen to the Live version of Starship Trooper by the band 'YES'. Its the 1984 Live clip in Germany, you can find it on YouTube. The original version of Starship Trooper was great, but this faster and heavier 1984 variant is awesome. Have a good day, dude!

shame that real ...
shame that real rock and roll is dying now. People say Hannah Montana rock star or Jonas Brothers rock band. and when u ask about whitesnake, deep purple, rainbow or dio they didnt even know what is it...

Correct, Coverdale ...
Correct, Coverdale is also the ideal 'front man' you'd want in your rock band. But full respect Hughes, the guy is a legend. When you see a line up like this, you realise how truly excellent these early '70's bands were. And what do we see now...Lady Goo-Goo and Justin Beaver. Pitiful.

thats cuz Hughes was Tenor, David was Baritone. Nowadays Coverdale's range is wider than Glenn's. He almost gets 4 octaves in full voice.

Coverdale here is only 21 years old. His later vocal range eats Gillan's for lunch. Both are legends though.

I hear what people ...
I hear what people say about Hughes outpacing Coverdale through the range, but Coverdale is the kind of ideal frontman you want in your rock band. And, to be fair, he has a great voice too. Together they did a great job with this Deep Purple classic!

and even in the ...
and even in the next number, Might Just Take Your Life - the song itself doesn't really seem particularly striking, but look at the way Paice works there!!! He's not even playing - he's performing!! Utterly animating a rather mediocre song!... in short - Paice is simply fantastic drummer. period!

Ritchie taught my girlfriend the riff to Smoke on the Water backstage. It's still the only one she can play-- and she does! Wish he'd taught her this instead.
