Last comment for the night... Just recounting Al's time in the late 80's thanks to this video. This whole time period was amazing.. did PTP with Ogre then later produced Rabies for SP, collaberated with Ian Mckay of Fugazi/Minor Threat with "Pailhead", Jello with "Lard", Trent with "10k Homo DJs", Acid Horse with Cabaret Voltaire, and started Revco with F242. Meanwhile Martin Atkins, and Bill Rieflin (the two drummers in this vid) started Pigface.

Also... on the reznor note.. be sure to look up "the exotic birds" :)

is that reznor?

It's Al Jougenson on lyrics. A little ahead of Reznor. One of the first industrial bands. Check out Skinny Puppy, Pig Face (who Trent worked with before NiN and Front Line Assembly if you like it though.

To be more precise... Al Jourgenson in the Cowboy Hat, Nivek Ogre (of Skinny Puppy) in the baseball cap, and Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedies) with the red hair.

I know who Rev Al is--he is in the cowboy hat--I was talking about the guy in the foreground--and yes viv--now that I think of it, that is Jello. Just an FYI--NIN formed in 88, Pigface formed in 1990. Reznor NEVER worked with FLA. Rev Al DID work with Reznor in 1000 homo DJs. Also when Ministry formed in 1981, they were not an industrial band, more synth-pop. The "industrial" Ministry did not kick in till 1987. Throbbing Gristle would be one of the FIRST industrial bands. :)

Yes you are both right, was drinking when I wrote this comment, and realized a few mistakes. I never meant that Reznor worked with FLA just that FLA, and Puppy were before NIN. Didn't realize Jello was from the Dead Kennedys. Thanks for the insight. Good call on the "old" Ministry it wasn't industrial, I'm trying to remember a famous song of theirs pre industrial. The 1000 Homo DJ's thing surprises me, gonna have to listen to some more closely. cheers

Just for arguments sake....Puppy released "Bites in 1984 as well as the album "Back and Forth". FLA released "Nerve War" in 1986. Just trying to be a shit disturber. Gotta admit that puppy releasing 'bites was a pretty eary album...

I so love remembering "old industrial". As for the famous pre industrial ministry song.. Everyday is like Halloween pretty much is the most popular.. Revenge off With Sympathy and Angel off Twitch probably rank 2 and 3. For the FLA/SP debate... the first incarciration of SP was Cevin Key, Nivek Ogre, and William Schroeder. William Schroeder left SP and was replaced by Dwayne Gottell. William Schroeder then started FLA under the moniker Bill Leeb. Yay.. I'm a rivethead history dweeb.
