Might want to have the kid play against some competition instead of kids standing around waving at the puck. My 9 year old plays travel hockey and having him in a house league scoring 5 goals a game would do nothing for him, just like its doing nothing for this kid

Yep. In Alaska, most coaches would bench the kid until he learns to pass it around a little.
