CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT (www.docgunter.com)
This video shows how chiropractic adjustments are performed by Dr. Stephen R. Gunter, DC. It is an actual office visit and was posted for educational purposes and to promote dialogue. For those interested in this field, this is a great video to observe. If there are questions, Dr. Gunter will check in to answer. Frequently asked question: "What was that clicky thing he was pushing on him? He does it at 4:26" Answer by Dr. Gunter (BackCarePlus) "This is clearly the most common question I get. That is an adjusting instrument called an Activator. It is spring loaded for rapid delivery of a force to move one vertebra at a time and has some advantages (and disadvantages, too) compared to traditional manual techniques. This treatment sequence shows several distinct methods of correction, and I commonly combine them in the manner shown, although there are times that one single method may be more desirable on a given treatment session."

i think it's a blunt ended hammer-like thing that intensifies the 'hitting' power and direction. i had some chiropractor use one on me but to no avail. i have had chiropractors tell me that i am a rare person because i never adjust, even with heat and/or electroshock before.

Hello doc what's your opinion about upper cervical specific chiropractors? Some consider this to be the only true way to go about chiropractic, others don't even consider themselves chiros, etc. Some say upper cervical specific is a myth, and the practitioners are brainwashed to the idea, on the other hand, the practioners themselves seem to claim results that would seem to be chiropractic at its purest.
BackCarePlus napisał :
Upper cervical specific is a technique based on the unique anatomy of the atlas/axis motor unit and also has traditionally been imbued w/ a quasi-spiritual notion of innate-to-innate communication, which of course is true of most early chiropractic thinking. I don't deny its utility, and do use it with some patients. As an Applied Kinesiologist, I am most interested in the outcome of proper neuro-muscular function and less attached philosophically as to how I achieve that goal. Intention is key.
