Argentina economists face legal charges

The Argentine government is cracking down on economists who are speaking out about the country's inflation rate, by taking them to court. The government claims they are damaging the country by saying prices are rising as much as 25 per cent per year - one of the highest in the world. The opposition says Cristina Kirchner's government is hiding Argentina's problem and trying to silence those who disagree. Al Jazeera's Teresa Bo reports from Buenos Aires.

I named the distance because Malvinas is on the Argentinean continental platform. The difference is pretty clear for me: Japan is a real cuntry while Falklands is a COLONY!!! .

Doesnt matter how ...
Doesnt matter how far away it is, its not your choice. That is beyond the point. Japan and china are roughly 1096.04 miles apart, with your mentality China should own Japan since is close by and smaller. You have no right.

Probably best if ...
Probably best if you read your facts up first. Falkland islands is a democracy with the right to a referendum to independance. However they choose to be part of the UK. My country South Africa had a documentary about Argentina, it showed your schools brainwashing children into believing no matter what that the Falklands are yours and that the inhabitants should be removed, here we see the problem at an early age you cant see the facts.

@m4rkyboy you talk ...
@m4rkyboy you talk about democracy, when there is no political parties in that islands? democracy is to expel the same british who lives in the islands because they dont think as that thing that you call "falkland government"? ask to mike bingham, yolanda bertrand, alexander betts or martyn clarke and you'll see there is no democracy in the islands, including that the islands doesnt belong to the UK

Its debt is low ...
Its debt is low because it has a shit credit rating. And anyway,comparing the UK to Argentina is like comparing a Rolex to a Sekonda.
m4rkyboy

Heh, it's not ...
Heh, it's not really like the UK is doing that well, huh? The UK may not suffer from high inflation, but it is barely growing, unemployment is higher than the pre-2008 average and its debt-to-GDP proportion is intimidating. Argentina's inflation problem, on the other hand, is largely a reflection of its fast growth.

hahahaha Serves them right for their aggressive stance on the Falklands-a democracy,which Buenos aires wants to invade,overthrow and then install an undemocratic govt.

Food inflation can ...
Food inflation can also be influenced by factors other than "mismanagement": eg, weather. Besides, a large part of food inflation these last months have been caused by liquidity in international capital markets over which no sovereign actor has control. As for Argentina, it should be noticed that it has already taken measures during the last years to curb food inflation: tax on food exports, for example. Big farmers have resisted that, and they have a lot of support from the media.

Politicians failing ...
Politicians failing in controlling the inflation need to be a "waitress" to earn votes is just bloody sad. An agricultural economy that cannot keep basic food products' price stable is just evidence of bad management or something worse..........
