BLATANT YOUTUBE CENSORSHIP Can you believe how blatant the censorship on YouTube has become? Let me just run you through what has happened since I uploaded this video on the evening of Sunday 30th November 2008... Within 18 hours of uploading this video, it had already generated over 16,000 views, over 1,100 ratings, and over 600 comments. This meant that the video reached the No.1 spot in the most-discussed list for today in the news & politics global category. It was also at No.2 most-discussed global. The video picked up a total of 55 honors, including many number 1 positions. Since only 18 hours had elapsed after uploading the video, it should have remained in all of today's lists for another 30 hours before dropping out of those lists. However, YouTube decided to remove every single honor this video had received - all 55 of them! And they have not entered the video into any of the lists for this week or this month. At the same time, all the other videos that were uploaded at the same time as mine, were still there in today's lists!... Even videos that were uploaded before mine! So here we have it folks, blatant censorship of the highest order, and YouTube clearly doesnt care how crude or obvious the censorship looks, and they don't care to even explain their actions. If it was just the odd little bit of censorship here and there, and it wasnt particularly noticable, I wouldnt even say anything about it. But the censorship is just beyond the joke now, and too obvious for us to ignore. Here are just a few of the main censorship methods used by YouTube: * Fiddling the View Counters by not displaying the true number of views on videos. This keeps the videos out of the most-viewed lists to stop them from going viral. * Removing honors from videos to prevent the video being displayed in any of the lists. * Removing pages of comments from the video to prevent it from reaching the most-discussed lists. * Removing the video for no reason, and displaying the message "This video has been removed by the user" on the page where the video used to be. * Preventing the video from playing properly, if at all (sometimes accompanied by the message: "This video is no longer available"). * Failing to display a thumbnail image for your video. * Displaying completely irrelevant videos in the "Related Videos" section on the video page. Unless we protest about these crude methods of censorship, the problem of censorship will not go away.

From the BBC news website: A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said the force's Professional Standards Branch was investigating the conduct of officers on the Wigan division, following the reported incident. The spokesman confirmed a man had been charged and convicted of assaulting a police officer and had later successfully appealed against the conviction, on 13 November at Liverpool Crown Court. Absolutley disgraceful behaviour by the police. If that is how people who serve this country are treated then we might as well let the fucking place rot. The thing that really makes me sick to my stomach is the fact that they have the audacity to charge HIM whilst they get away scot free. The police constantly drone on about upholding the law and how they have zero tolerance with violent criminals. That footage shows three criminals with badges.

i wonder if these cops were disciplined or if my comment will be even published?? when that bullshit "youtube for the people" blog came out, they could not delete the comments fast enough because it was at LEAST 99% comments were against the new policies. they finally just turned off comments and buried the blog deep in the website. i can never find that blog anymore
