Slade - Darlin Be Home Soon
A Slade video from CD Slade Alive!! Lyric: Come, and talk of all things we did today Hear, and laugh about our funny little ways For we have a few minutes to breathe And I know that it's time you must leave Chorus So darling be home soon I couldn't bare to wait an extra minute If you dawdle My darling be home soon It's not just these few hours I've been waiting Since you toddled For the great relief of having you to talk to And now, a quarter of my life is almost past I, I think I've come to see myself at last And I know that the time spent confused Was the time that I spent without you And I feel in myself in blues Chorus But darling be home soon I couldn't bare to wait an extra minute If you dawdle My darling be home soon Lyrics It's not just these few hours I've been waiting Since you toddled For the great relief of having you to talk to Break Go, and beat your crazy head against the sky Try, to see beyond the houses in your eyes It's OK to shoot the moon Chorus My darling be home soon I couldn't bare to wait an extra minute If you dawdle My darling be home soon It's not just these few hours I've been waiting Since you toddled For the great relief of having you to talk to

You've got it backwards, he was a great rock vocalist because he didn't take himself seriously. So much of 70's rock was pompous-"let yourself go a bit..."

that's exactly what I meant, but sometimes you get the impression that HE didn't rate himself that highly... he could hold his own with the likes of Gillan or Ozzie... when I said he was an idiot, I meant it in an affectinate way :)~ 'The Darkness' were a breath of fresh air, they really take the piss out of those 'pompous' rock 'gods' lol

I totally misunderstood your earlier post. Yup, you are right. The Flame soundtrack featured outstanding vocals but thats what the audience and media/press didn't expect or want. Never really liked 'em as a metal band as song structure and Hill's guitar style didn't fit.

For the great relief not to hear a long and boring guitar solo. Most of Dave Hill's work on this take is tasty. How would you like to be the guitarist for the producer who last worked with Hendrix?

Nod was indeed brilliant. and whilst DAve is not the greatest guitarist,,thats nonsense to say he can hardly play the instrument.
