The Commodore 64 was released only a year before this and wasn't really regarded as a serious business machine and the Amiga came out a year later.

actually the altair 8800 was the first milestone because it was built pretty much the same way computers are built. altair 8800 and xerox GUI inspired the macintosh, steve jobbs even saoid that in one on peestandingup 's vids
