Scotland the Brave (Bagpipes)

"Scotland the Brave" (Scottish Gaelic: Alba an Aigh) is a patriotic song and one of the main contenders to be considered as a national anthem of Scotland. In June 2006, the song came second to Flower of Scotland in an online poll with more than 10,000 votes to determine the nation's favourite unofficial "anthem". The song is used to represent Scotland in the Commonwealth Games. Scotland the Brave is also the authorised pipe band march of The British Columbia Dragoons of the Canadian Forces and is played during the Pass in Review at Friday parades at The Citadel. In 2006, it was adopted as the regimental quick march of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Scotland the Brave (Alba an Aigh en gaélique écossais) est, avec The Flower of Scotland, l'hymne national écossais. De andere zijn Flower of Scotland en Scots Wha Hae. Scotland the Brave é um dos hinos não-oficiais da Escócia junto com Scots Wha Hae e Flower of Scotland.

Great patriot song. And to you fucks that pour a bunch of rubbish on the british i have to say this: Think of the fact that britain stood up in both world wars. Even though the french cowards surrendered britain continued fighting they are a brave people and that you can't say anything about. Also the Scots are a proud and brave people. Salutes from the north!

Oh you must think that marching in line to your death with cannons and muskets blasting all around you is cowardly then? People die in wars, sometimes it's a waste and sometimes it's not, these men were called upon to defend their country and farr better or worse they answered the call and many of them gave their lives for it. And you come on here and mock them by saying that killing people is not brave? How dare you? Way to show respect for those heroes.

How about not. The English are a great people and have done much to commerate themselves to the world. They've invented many things, and they sacrificed their blood for the World in two World Wars. I have no hatred against them, simply because their ancestors animosity towards Celts, which after all, was the standard of the time.I deeply respect the English, especially now when most of them would willingly give up Northern Ireland, and have no problem with the Scots and Welsh having independence.

Scotland is a seperate country you dumb fuck. While Wales has been absorbed through Conquest, Ireland and Scotland remain free of the English. and the Song should really be called Ireland the Brave, seeing as the Scots migrated from Ireland to present day Scotland.

Why? What have the Welsh done but lose their independence to England and for many centuries be not even counted as a seperate nation?

most armies use sound as a psychological war instrument. living isolated for generations and then to hear the sound of bagpipes must have been terrifying for the native americans. even our own troops during desert storm played heavy metal music on loud speakers when they invaded iraq.
