Thank you so much! What a lovely bit of engineering. I'm hard pressed to choose between the Merlin and the Alison V1612 (in the Curtiss aircraft). Either one would do. :) And what a miserable bloody bunch of spectators. Have they no idea of the history of this engine? Or respect for the guys at RR? Ungrateful petrol heads. I just wish I'd been there to capture the sound. There's truly nothing like it, even running lean and with safety headers....
