Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Residents and Citizens of Franklin Park Illinois, Campaign time is a time to bring issues to the table! Campaign time is a time for all candidates to bring to light their ideas, hopes and dreams for the residents and voters of Franklin Park. It is also a time for residents to participate. Residents can ask candidates questions or residents and interested parties can contribute to candidates of their choice. Campaign time is a time to give direction to our village, a time to realign what may be out of order, a time to address issues, a time to talk things out, a time to debate or publish, whether in print or media. In this media, video, I present the issue of making our town better, safer and attractive with better street lighting. When I take a look around the town, I see small projects that can make our town a better place to reside. Good, directed, full daylight spectrum street lighting along Grand Avenue from Ace Hardware west to Mannheim road will make a safer street for pedestrians and motorists. It will also make the main shopping center in the village more attractive for shoppers to stop and shop. During the summer many pedestrians and bicyclists use the sidewalk to go west and east on Grand Avenue. Many residents also cross the street to go north into the neighborhoods of our village. Independent Candidate Ben Kotowicz speaks on the issue of the Sexton Landfill and Franklin Park Park District. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Friends, Neighbors and Visitors! Today is Election Day, a day to come out and vote for the candidate or candidates of your choice. I've brought to the table several issues. My opponents brought very little to the campaign table. Tommy Thompson one of my opponents is for acquiring the Sexton Landfill for the Franklin Park Park District. I am opposed to acquiring the Sexton Landfill because I believe it would create a tax liability for the residents of Franklin Park Illinois. One of the residents that live on Panoramic Drive told me that she saw flames at night coming out of the ground as I chatted with her on her porch during the campaign. She pointed to the approximate area where I know for a fact that between 1000 and 3500 fifty-five gallon barrels are buried. The contents of the barrels are unknown to me. Another long time resident of Panoramic Drive claims that no dock could ever be built on the landfill because of the sinking ground. The phrase goes "If it sounds too good to be true it probably is." If the land is valuable then why would Schiller Park not want to transform the land into a park for their own community? Why does the Park District want to acquire the land when it is in Schiller Park? I am opposed to acquiring the land because of possible tax liability to the residents of Franklin Park. Hello Voters and Residents of Franklin Park Illinois! Thank you for visiting my site on the YouTube. My name is Ben E Kotowicz. I am on the ballot for Village Trustee. The election is Tuesday April 17, 2007. I urge you to vote on that day. I need your vote to get elected. I am asking for your vote to make a difference in our local government. I am running for office as an Independent Candidate. I've been a resident of Franklin Park since 1957. I have seen many changes throughout the years, some good and some not so good. I do not want to increase taxes. Do you want an increase in your taxes? I want to see our board of trustees spend our money where it will do us the most good. I have some very good ideas and will present them in the days and weeks to come. For now this is my introduction video. In the videos that follow I will address ideas of the other candidates and I will bring issues to the table that need to be addressed. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Citizens and Residents of Franklin Park, Bringing issues to the campaign table is the responsibility of every candidate that is on the ballot. I mentioned in my introductory video that I would bring issues of importance to the campaign table. In this video I bring to you, the residents, concerns about the maintenance of our streets and roads in Franklin Park Illinois. Roads and streets cost hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. Once a new road is put in place it is up to the local and state government to maintain the roads. Our government is not keeping up with the maintenance of the roads in our village. Compare and contrast our roads and streets with the streets of Rosemont Illinois. Residential roads in Rosemont are well maintained. Residential streets in Rosemont are not new but they are maintained very well. The department heads and the Mayor of Rosemont are aware that roads are the basic building blocks to a good village. Roads are the gateway to a village. Roads and streets are the first things that are noticed as you enter a village. I've observed that our village shovels and packs. Asphalt is shoveled where needed and packed down by tires of a village vehicle. Many streets are now made up of mounded asphalt pies. Andy was a good friend to my wife for many years working together in Nashville at Spongebath Records. When we visited Seattle, we saw Andy and his wife and he took us to shows and made us feel welcome in their community. This is a tragic story, and words can't describe how painful it is to see this happen and this is all I can do, is write something for him.
