I Can Take You To The Sun - The Misunderstood

Classic psychedelic track from December 1966. The first single from this group.
My Friend Jack - The Smoke

Released in 1967 and claimed by some to be jumping on the LSD bandwagon. Who cares if it was? It sounded great.
In the hall of the Mountain King/Bolero - SRC

From their second LP 'Milestones'. A version of Grieg's classic and Ravel's Bolero (albeit via Jeff Beck's B side to 'Hi Ho Silver Lining').
Morning Dew - Episode Six

Not the best version of 'Morning Dew' but interesting as Episode Six contained Ian Gillan and Roger Glover, later of Deep Purple. Considering these 'heavy' men are in the group it is strange that I think their best number is 'I hear trumpets blow' a cover of a record by harmony group The Tokens.
Love Makes Sweet Music - Soft Machine

1967 single by The Soft Machine, one of the Canterbury groups.

Portobello Road - Cat Stevens

From his first LP. Well worth a listen there are some great songs on there. This one conjures up Portobello road in the mid sixties, almost feel like I'm there. Read Moorcock's 'The Chinese Agent' to get another picture of the Ladbroke Grove area in sixties London.
Three songs from The Ovaltineys

The Ovaltineys were a club for children. They had their own radio programme. Helping the Ovaltineys with the songs are Tessa Deane, George Melachrino and Monte Rey. The songs are 'We are the Ovaltineys', 'One little raindrop' and 'Balloons'.
