16-bit ALU in minecraft

This is the first part of a planned 16-bit computer that will run entirely in minecraft. That computer will be "Hack" compatible, which is to say that it'll run code meant for the Hack machine described in The Elements of Computing Systems (a fantastic book that you should look up if you are at all interested in how computers work. Its website is www.idc.ac.il ). Some more info: The design was drawn up in a program called Redstone Simulator (does what it says on the tin), which was written by Baezon on the Minecraft Forums www.minecraftforum.net MCEdit ( minecraftforums.net ) was used to help clear off space and import the design into minecraft. Hours of experimenting with prototypes, modifications to the design, and debugging took place in the game itself, however. This project is far from over. Memory, here I come...

16 Bit Lolitas - Cold Energy

LIKE Anjunadeep on Facebook: on.fb.me 1. Cold Energy 2. Smoke Signals Click here to buy from Beatport. www.beatport.com It was off the back of a series of originals and remixes from the fabled Warung Brazil 001 compilation that first took the 16 Bit Lolitas to Anjunadeep as cuts such as the ruthless groover Murder Weapon brought Ariaan and Peter into the spotlight and their sounds into our headphones. This double A-side EP marks their long-awaited return and serves up another two slices of the finer side of prog house. Kicking things off is Cold Energy; insistent, mesmerising basslines, tenderly resonating vocals and chilly atmospheres give this deliciously deep track a shadowy, twilight feel. The meandering Smoke Signals then proceeds to close the EP on a more minimal note with eight minutes of spine-chilling soundscapes and undeniably eerie melodies.

16-bit Splash Hill Music in Green Hill Zone

Usually I don't do these things, but since there's already a number of videos featuring fan renditions of the Splash Hill Zone music from the upcoming Sonic 4, I decided to put up one as well. This is a 16-bit version of the Splash Hill Zone music, converted in a format which can be replayed on the original Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. I tried to put it in Sonic 1's Green Hill Zone and I have to say that it kinda fits. Credits to RAMPKORV from the Sonic Retro Forum for providing the midi arrangement which I used to make this. UPDATE: HERE IS A DOWNLOAD LINK FOR AN MP3 VERSION OF THIS SONG: www.archive.org AND HERE IS A VGZ (you'll need a specific program to play this): digilander.iol.it HERE IS RAMPKORV'S MIDI AS WELL: ninja.spritelink.net (give credit to Rampkorv if you use this midi)

16-Bit Gems #20: BS Zelda (& Satellaview Retrospective)

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda, Roo tackles perhaps the rarest set of Zelda games out there (and no, the CD-i ones don't count - ever). Released on the Nintendo Satellaview in the 90's and broadcast via satellite, BS Legend of Zelda & BS Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets were big hits in Japan... but are they worth a look today? Find out in this episode, along with a retrospective of the Satellaview system thrown in at no extra charge! To see more of our content, visit www.clanofthegraywolf.com If you'd like to see the BS Zelda games on Wii's Virtual Console, it couldn't hurt to nicely ask Nintendo to make it so nintendo@noa.nintendo.com

16-Bit Gems #16 - Alien Soldier (Genesis/Mega Drive)

Roo explores one of the best run & gun games ever made - and one that didn't originally make it to America - with Alien Soldier. This game has it all: Tons of bosses, great weapons, a cyborg chicken... In fact, you could call the game not just a gem, but a "treasure". Yuk yuk yuk, thanks folks, we'll be here all week. 16 Bit - "Where are you?"

'Where are you?' fue su gran éxito. Algún tiempo después concibieron otro clásico, con un sonido más endurecido, más EBM 'Too Fast to Live'. Más info y discografía en www.discogs.com

Review Link's Awakening 16 bits

Classic Game Room - TOP GEAR for SNES review

Classic Game Room reviews TOP GEAR for Super Nintendo from 1992. CGR plays Top Gear the videogame (no relation to the awesome TV show) from Kemco for SNES and races against the evil "computer" and 18 other cars in races around the world on a variety of interesting, well designed race courses. Fans of games like Rad Racer, Outrun and Super Monaco GP should check out this well made, old-school, 16-bit driving game with responsive controls and well balanced gameplay. Top Gear can be easily found for Super Nintendo SNES and has many sequels on various game consoles like N64, Mega Drive and Xbox. This CGR review of Top Gear for SNES has gamaplay from Top Gear the videogame showing video game play of Top Gear on Super Nintendo.
