1700's French Revoultion inspired hair - Marie Antoinette/Carlotta

Feel free to check out my Facebook page here :) I am posting a video soon on the makeup, and thought it would do a video at the same time on how I did the hair. I pulled insperation for this from a few places, There is a book called "Period Hairstyles, for studio, stage and screen" by Kit Spencer which is a brilliant book. There is also a Video by Amy B from Ask Me makeup, that has a Marie Antoinette hair style. Mine is a bit of a blend of the two, but slightly different from both. Anyway hope you found it helpful or it gave you some ideas on how to create your own looks! If you had more skill than I you could also leave a little hair at the side to roll up into long pincurls just above your ears. Have fun! Pursebuzz has a great video on how to make a sock bun, check it out here www.youtube.com Take care everyone! Music: Danse Macabre - No Violin, Violin Hook and Isolated harp, by Kevin Macleod

Johann Pfeiffer (mid 1700s) Concerto for Violin in D major: I. Allegro

German composer and violinist. Johann Pfeiffer was born in Nuremberg in 1697. He studied violin and law, and joined the Weimar court ensemble in 1720, becoming Kapellmeister there in 1726. After several other positions he went to Bayreuth as Kapellmeister in 1734, and became the composition teacher of the future Margravine Wilhelmine. He remained in Bayreuth as a highly regarded composer and musician until his death in 1761. Die Batzdorfer Hofkapelle ist ein 1993 gegründetes Instrumentalensemble aus Sachsen, welches sich der historischen Aufführungspraxis von Barockmusik verschrieben hat. The Batzdorfer court orchestra, founded in 1993, is an instrumental ensemble of Saxony, which focuses on historical performance practice of Baroque music. After performing newly discovered music discovered in the Dresden Library, The Batzdorfer Court Orchestra is now concentrating on performing the "lost" music of many otherwise unknown Baroque composers. RAMEAU (early 1700s) Grand Motet QUAM DILECTA (Psalm 84) Herreweghe 1/2

Quam dilecta, grand motet for soloists, chorus, 2 flutes, 2 violinsviola & continuo (or organ) : "Quam Dilecta" Performed By : Guy de Mey / Henri Ledroit / Lieve Monbaliu / Peter Kooy / Stephen Varcoe / Suzanne Gari and La Chapelle Royale with Philippe Herreweghe Rameau's grands motets were written for concert performance; the florid solos, grand choruses and important orchestral participation are very reminiscent of French Baroque opera. The motets are, however, much more interesting to the casual listener: there is no recitative; the arias, duo and trios are full of extended melody and ornament; the choruses have an unusual amount of counterpoint (including the occasional fugue). Quam dilecta, composed between 1713 and 1722. It is based on the Psalm 83. The original version is lost. It is known through a later version,. Fonds Decroix, BNF. Psalm 84 1How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! 2My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 3Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. 4Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. 6Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. 7They go from strength to strength, every one ...

Johan Agrell (mid-1700s) Concerto a 5 in D Wilbert Hazelzet, flute

Wilbert Hazelzet flute with Ensemble Music for a While www.agrell.info Johan Agrell (1701--1765) was born in the Swedish province of Östergötland and studied music in Uppsala. Most of his professional career, however, was spent in Germany. He was recruited from Sweden to Kassel as a member of the royal orchestra, where he became famous as a virtuoso on both harpsichord and violin. In 1746 he moved to Nuremberg as the city's director of music, which he remained until his death in 1765. He married in 1749 and had a daughter [concert program 2001], but probably no descendants named Agrell. Although Johan Agrell was an appreciated musician and conductor, it is as composer he is remembered today. His music belongs to the very last part of the baroque era, in some details looking ahead into the Viennese classical school. He wrote concertos, sonatas, and various types of church music. It has been claimed that all his church music [Eppstein] and all his vocal music [Prophone] has been lost, but this is fortunately not entirely correct. Thanks to W. Riedelbauch and R. Freund [personal comm.], we now know that a library in Göttingen holds a manuscript that includes a set of eight motets by Johan Agrell (see Further literature below). Johan Agrell even wrote symponies, and according to some historicians (Valentin, who cites Brenet and Fink; and Norling, who cites Morgenroth), he did so before anyone else, including Sammartini and Stamitz, who are also known for early symphonies ...

Telemann (1700s) Violin Concerto in A, TV 51:a4 "Die Relinge" (THE FROGS)

(also known as "Les Rainettes") Not entirely without reason, Georg Philipp Telemann's reputation today as a "light" composer often has unjustly discouraged would-be listeners from exploring his more challenging, if not extravagant side. And it's a pity since Telemann, who was recognized in his day as quite the opposite, possessed extraordinary wit, a keen imagination, and a boundless sense of humor--all of which manifested themselves in his vastly prolific oeuvre more often than is generally believed. Telemann's recently discovered violin concerto in A "Die Relinge",subtitled "Les Rainettes", or in English, "The Frogs."While the first movement begins safely enough, the abrupt whining pitch of soloist Midori Seiler's violin soon interjects, her instrument purporting to allude to (according to the notes) a croaking frog though ultimately sounding more like a diffuse air raid siren. This auspicious entry begins one of the most imaginatively styled programmatic displays this side of Biber--and once heard, this grand concerto will not soon be forgotten.(-John Greene from liner notes) www.arkivmusic.com Academy for Ancient Music Berlin "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Best French Baroque Music(1/40) Suite D Major for trumpets(1700s) By Rameau (CC Edit)

Here's a shortened version of Rameau's music. The original just seemed badly organized by Rameau to the extent that I felt bored listening to it! So I made this edited version where I've rearranged the sequence of mvts, repeated sections and omitted others.

Charles Levens, a native of Marseilles, was one of a group of composers who traveled from city to city in France during the eighteenth century, working mostly in Bordeaux. I do not own, nor do I or intend to profit from this content whatsoever. JF Fasch (1700s) Quartet for flute, 2 recorders & continuo in G, Fwv N:G 1 Camerata Köln

Fasch has written at least 16 known Quartets for various combinations. This one is unique in that it pits a solo "transverse" flute against two recorders making for a lovely but not-an-easy-listening task to distinguish the instruments. Metal Detecting 1700's Homesite Part Three

In this the third Part but second hunt of a 1700's home site which has been vacant and over grown with forest, I found most importantly to myself an 1864 Two Cent American Coin. It is the best find to date for my brief involvement so far in this great hobby. The coin was found in an inch deep of very dry and loose soil under a wild vine that looks like a fallen tree. This vine has been allowed to grow to the thickness of tree because no one except deer hunters have been on that property for over a hundred years..... Part four will contain more footage from the rest of this dig, I used up almost all of the time allowed for each video showing the 1864 two cent coin...... I am going to stay with this site for at least my next five hunts because of it's pristine condition and hope to find a lot of great coin there........Thanks for watching a good luck on your next hunt, Bill.
