In a society that has abolished every kind of adventure the only adventure that remains is to abolish the society. Those who make revolutions halfway only dig their own graves. No replastering, the structure is rotten. We will ask nothing. We will demand nothing. We will take, occupy. Down with the state. The Nice - America 1968

The Nice - America 1968 The Nice was an English progressive rock band from the 1960s, known for their unique blend of rock, jazz and classical music. Their debut album, The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack was released in 1967 to immediate acclaim; it is often considered the first progressive rock album. The Nice are also a forerunner of the much more widely known Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The Nice consisted initially of keyboardist Keith Emerson, bassist/vocalist Lee Jackson, drummer Brian Davison, and guitarist David O'List, more commonly known as "Davy". All the members of the band are from England. This song is an arrangement of Leonard Bernstein's "America" which Emerson described as the first ever instrumental protest song.

Brigitte Bardot - La Madrague, 1968

Posted by www.nostalgoteket.se On New Year's Eve 1967, French TV broadcast a special colour programme devoted to BB - 'Le Bardot Show'. Years before its time, it effectively consisted of a collection of video-clips, which made an incredible impression on the French public. Of the dozen songs she sang, nearly half were specially commissioned. At the time of Bardot's television special she and Serge Gainsbourg, the notorious French singer, were lovers and he wrote many songs especially for her. On the Le Bardot Show, the stream of Gainsbourg classics inspired by his new love (or demanded by her producers) were performed by the pair in front of outlandish sets of the cod-psychedelic variety that you only ever saw on 1960s TV shows.

Little Arrows 1968

There's a boy, a little boy Shootin' arrows in the blue And he's aiming them at someone But the question is at who. Is it me or is it you - It's hard to tell until you're hit But you know it when they hit you 'Cause they hurt a little bit. Here they come pouring out of the blue Little arrows for me and for you You're falling in love again Falling in love again. Little arrows in your clothing Little arrows in your hair When you're in love you'll find Those little anows everywhere Little arrows that will hit you once And hit you once again Little arrows that hit everybody Every now and then. Oh oh oh the pain. Some folks run and others hide But there ain't nothing they can do And some folks put on armor But the arrows go straight through. So you see there's no escape So why not face it and admit That you love those little arrows When they hurt a little bit. Manchester United-Benfica 1968 European Cup Final.wmv

sportsvideobox.blogspot.com The 1968 European Cup Final was the 13th European Cup Final and the culmination of the 1967--68 European Cup, a club football tournament for the champions of European leagues. The match was held at Wembley Stadium, London, on 29 May 1968, between Manchester United of England and Benfica of Portugal. The Portuguese champions lost to their English opponents 4--1 after extra time. The first half passed without incident, but, eight minutes into the second half, Bobby Charlton opened the scoring for Manchester United with a rare headed goal. However, the lead only lasted for 22 minutes before Jaime Graça scored for Benfica. The score remained at 1--1 until the end of normal time, forcing the match into extra time, but it might not have ended that way had Alex Stepney not made a crucial save when one-on-one with Eusébio. The temperature was clearly playing a part in the players' fitness, and Benfica's players were clearly flagging when George Best put United in the lead again three minutes into extra time. Picking up the ball 25 yards from goal after the Benfica players failed to deal with Stepney's long kick downfield, Best broke into the penalty area and dribbled round the goalkeeper and rolled the ball into an empty net. Brian Kidd, who was celebrating his 19th birthday, added United's third a minute later, before Charlton rounded off the scoring before 100 minutes had been played. United's win meant that they became the first English team to win ...

Tiny Tim - "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" (1968) Tribute (1932-1996)

Official Tiny Tim Memorial website: www.tinytim.org Herbert Khaury (April 12, 1932 November 30, 1996), better known by the stage name Tiny Tim, was an American singer, ukulele player, and musical archivist. He was most famous for his rendition of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" sung in a distinctive high falsetto/vibrato voice (though his normal singing voice was in a standard male range). He was generally regarded as a novelty act, though his records indicate his wide knowledge of American songs. He had no official middle name, though some web sites report it to be "Butros", his father's first name, while during his televised wedding his middle name was given as "Buckingham". His headstone reads "Khaury/Herbert B/Tiny Tim/1932-1996". Throughout the 1950s and early 1960s, Tiny Tim developed something of a cult following. In the 1960s he was seen regularly near the Harvard University campus as a street performer, singing old Tin Pan Alley tunes. His choice of repertoire and his encyclopedic knowledge of vintage popular music impressed many of the spectators. One admirer, Norman Kay, recalled that Tiny Tim's outrageous public persona was a false front belying a quiet, studious personality: "Herb Khaury was the greatest put-on artist in the world. Here he was with the long hair and the cheap suit and the high voice, but when you spoke to him he talked like a college professor. He knew everything about the old songs. Between 1962 and 1966 Tiny Tim recorded a number of songs at ...

Romeo and Juliet 1968 "What Is A Youth"

Part of Act.One-Scene.5 Details are here: One of the most beautiful scenes of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet . They meet each other for the first time in this classic 1968 version directed by Franco Zeffirelli, while in the background Leonardo sings : What is a youth? Impetuous fire. What is a maid? Ice and desire. The world wags on. A rose will bloom It then will fade So does a youth. So does the fairest maid. Comes a time when one sweet smile Has its season for a while... Then love's in love with me. Some they think only to marry, Others will tease and tarry, Mine is the very best parry. Cupid he rules us all. Caper the cape, but sing me the song, Death will come soon to hush us along. Sweeter than honey and bitter as gall. Love is a task and it never will pall. Sweeter than honey...and bitter as gall Cupid he rules us all........... INTRUDERS - COWBOYS TO GIRLS - 1968

Rare TV Appearance! This was from a promotional Reel to Reel BETA tape I found in a television station I worked at in the mid 1990's. It was only marked "For Local Affiliates - From your Friends at the Club Vegas" - My assumption is that these promotional videos were made by a music production facility to promote the artists on locally-produced music shows. I really have no idea as to the true origin or specific year!
