Europe - The Final Countdown live 1986

This legendary concert is one that every Europe fan probably has in their collection somewhere. Taped in Stockholm in 1986 at the beginning of the band's huge success with the single of this song, it was also the only professionally-shot full-length concert that featured John Norum before he left the band at the end of that year.

World Cup 1986 Final - Argentina 3:2 Germany

1:0 Jose Brown (21.) 2:0 Jorge Valdano (55.) 2:1 Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (73.) 2:2 Rudi Völler (81.) 3:2 Jorge Burruchaga (84.) The 1986 World Cup Final was the final and deciding game of the 1986 World Cup, held in Mexico. The match was held at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on 29 June 1986 and had an attendance of 114600. It was contested by Argentina and West Germany. Argentina won the match 32 in normal time. Jose Luis Brown opened the scoring for Argentina in the 23rd minute and it stayed at 10 until half-time. After the break, Jorge Valdano doubled Argentina's lead. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge pulled a goal back in the 74th minute for West Germany and they equalised in the 80th minute; future Germany manager Rudi Völler scoring to seemingly salvage the game. However just 3 minutes later Jorge Burruchaga allowed Argentina to regain the lead at 32, this was how it remained and Argentina were able to celebrate their second world-cup victory in three tournaments (after winning the 1978 World Cup). www.wikipedia.org

Arvydas Sabonis-Before Injuries 1986

My highlight mix about one of the greatest centers of all time - Arvydas Sabonis from Lithuania. This mix shows how great he was before injuries, then he was playing in USSR team. Footage from 1986 world basketball championship in Spain. Sabonis was playing against D.Robinson(USA) and S.Vrankovic/V.Divac(Yugoslavia).

New York Subway 1986 NYC -directors cut- with stereo audio track.mpg

The story: in 1986 I made a round trip through the USA and Canada. The starting point was New York. So I filmed some scenes in Manhattan. And was going in the underground at 43nd St & Timesquare. I filmed with a big ARRIflex 16mm camera with a 120m magazine with 7250 Kodak 16mm color reversal Tungsten 400 ASA film and a Schneider Cine Xenon 1:2/16mm lens . This equipment is good for 10 Minutes recording duration at 25 f/sec. After I time a man comes to me and said, he´sa cameraman at ABC and filming at the subway is strictly forbidden without any permission and police is on the other end of the platform. So I was leaving the station, but I had these beautiful pics of the old times in the New York subway. At the same time I recorded the stereo sound with a SONY WM-D6C with two Sennheiser micros in stereo. In 1986 I edited the pics to the song of the band "London Beat" -- "9am at a New York subway". About 25 years later I was uploading this movie to YouTube. But SONY Music was locking my movie because of the copyright of the song. So I deleted the audio track und was uploading the silence version. After the great response to this video of the New York subway of 1986 now I opened my archive once again with the original film and composed it with the original stereo sound to this over 10 minutes long "directors cut" of all scenes, I filmed at this day in June 1986. Enjoy it! Thank you to Judy for telecine & color correction and Marion for the original sound recording.

Candi Staton You Got The Love ( Original 1986 Version )

I'm surprised this hasn't surfaced on YouTube yet - and I guess an actual video performance would be even more rare - but this is the original 1986 version of Candi Staton's latterly classic "You've Got The Love", the acapella of which was put together with the dub of Frankie Knuckles' "Your Love" to make the version we all know and love, some years later (1990). Of course, back then it all sounded very, very different... Original supplied by Jackie Becker ;-)

Michael Jordan 1986 Playoffs: 63pts, Gm 2 Vs. Celtics

MJ's 1st 50+pt game is this Legendary Game. It's still the playoff record and is ranked 3rd in the book "Michael Jordan's Top 50 Games". NBA Sophomore MJ was just 23 years old but he would show the world in just his 6th playoff game that there would never be another player like him again. This Celtics team was considered perhaps the greatest team ever. Having won 67 games, 40-1 at home, 31 straight at home and on a 14 win streak, MJ single-handedly almost dismantled them. After scoring 49 points in Game 1 (which I also have up on youtube), McHale said, "That will never happen again." The Celtics went back and brainstormed to stop MJ and came back to hold MJ to 63. At times, putting 4-5 bodies on Jordan, Jordan was well, still Jordan. MJ missed 64 games in the regular season with a broken foot and returned just 6 weeks earlier but in this game, the legend of Michael Jordan was born. Scoring on vicious attacks, athletic jumpers from everywhere and finesse and power moves all at once, MJ displayed an intensity to win and take the entire Boston Team all by himself. It was chilling to watch. Scaring the guts out of the Champion Celtics in their unbeatable home court, MJ played a game that still stands as the greatest post-season record of all-time with 63 points. The only quote you need to remember is Bird saying, "That was God disguised as Michael Jordan. He's the most awesome player I've ever seen...he was getting his points in the flow of the game...scary." Celtics coach KC ...

Vintage Q-Link (AOL) Promotion Video (1986)

A now comical look at the online future. Made for AOL's predecessor, Quantum Link, including Lucas Films Habitat. I got it when I worked for Wunderman, QLink/AOL's first ad agency and I just found it in that box of stuff you move from office to office. In 1987 I became a minor celebrity in virtual world Club Caribe when my Comodore 64 crashed and my avatar stayed in the same place on the island for weeks until I returned - then the entire game crashed.

Oliver Sachs MD - Original air date July 1986

Oliver Sacks was born in 1933 in London, England (both of his parents were physicians) and earned his medical degree at Queen's College, Oxford. In the early 1960s, he moved to the United States and completed an internship in San Francisco and a residency in neurology at UCLA. Since 1965, he has lived in New York, where he is clinical professor of neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, adjunct professor of neurology at the NYU School of Medicine and consultant neurologist to the Little Sisters of the Poor. In 1966 Dr. Sacks began working as a consulting neurologist for Beth Abraham Hospital, a chronic care facility in the Bronx where he encountered an extraordinary group of patients, many of whom had spent decades in strange, frozen states, like human statues, unable to initiate movement. He recognized these patients as survivors of the great pandemic of sleepy sickness that had swept the world from 1916 to 1927, and treated them with a then-experimental drug, L-dopa, which enabled them to come back to life. They became the subjects of his second book, Awakenings (1973), which later inspired a play by Harold Pinter ("A Kind of Alaska ") and the Oscar-nominated Hollywood movie, "Awakenings," with Robert De Niro and Robin Williams. Dr. Sacks is perhaps best known for his 1985 collection of case histories from the far borderlands of neurological experience, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat , in which he describes patients struggling to live with ...

Short Circuit (1986) full movie

Number 5, one of a group of experimental military robots, undergoes a sudden transformation after being struck by lightning. He develops self-awareness, consciousness, and a fear of the reprogramming that awaits him back at the factory. With the help of a young woman, Number 5 tries to evade capture and convince his creator that he has truly become alive. Technician Newton Crosby (Steve Guttenberg) and his indecipherable East Indian assistant, Ben Jabituya (Fisher Stevens), set out to locate Number 5 before the military can go through with its plans to destroy the robot. Number 5 takes refuge with loopy Stephanie Speck (Ally Sheedy), who is convinced that the mechanical man is an extraterrestrial. Hoping to teach the "alien" all about Earth, she fills Number 5's memory banks with reams of pop culture -- and then the real fun begins.
