The 50fps experiment with Oneder didn't work to good, Youtube just lowered the framerate... sigh. Lets see if I can do a better job. With some C64 demos a image technique called 'interlacing' is used to simulate more colours and help reduce the blockyness of the 64's multicolour mode. As an experiment I took my AVISynth script I used for Oneder and altered it so instead of interleaving the odd and even streams into a single 50fps video, they get merged together into a new 25fps video. Fast movement gets blured out a bit but where colours change between the different frames of a interlaced bitmap they get mixed together to make a new colour. Canon Legria HF S21 Shot at 25fps in bright daylight, Vivid setting Handheld, with Image Stabilization in some parts Aperture Priority for some shots (2.2 - 2.8) Edited in iMovie 09 Despite what Apple and Canon say, the PAL Legria model of this camera is NOT entirely compatible with iMovie 09 when shot at 50i. This was a huge disappointment to say the least and I only found this out when shooting, despite doing much research before purchase. I think the Vixia model is ok with Mac, but with the Legria, iMovie has problems with the interlacing when shot at 50i as it does not recognize it as interlaced. The workaround is to shoot at 25fps, or to shoot on 50i and then when importing to iMovie 09, import as Large format, not original size. This will slightly downgrade your file, but it somehow sorts out the problem of interlacing. Apple and Canon both write that this model IS compatible with iMovie, but it is not entirely true when shooting at 50i. I hope software will catch up and Apple will release an update to iMovie to correct this problem for PAL countries! I still haven't figured out the best settings for saving on iMovie with this new camera so I'm not sure if the quality could be even better. I don't know how this camcorder works with Windows and Movie Maker. Other than that I am very pleased with the sharpness of the video. This version of my video looks rather juddery, because YouTube annoyingly duplicated every 5th frame in this 25fps video to bring the framerate up to 29.97fps. The quality of the encoding is also much higher - the video data rate of the 720p HD version is over 250% higher, resulting in much clearer fractal details. Commissioned UK TV 'landscape' (un-graded & un-edited) Test rushes/dailies using a x2 ISHICO Anamorphic lens custom rigged / mounted to a 'standard 16mm' (1.33:1) format camera (Beaulieu R16 - see first image for set-up), resulting in a 2.66:1 widescreen image (shown here digitally un-squeezed). Film stock used was Fuji 400T (8682) 16mm colour negative film(now discontinued), ASA rating at 400 & normal film process (ECN-2). Filmed around London in 2005. All footage shot 25FPS (TK 25FPS) & Single light/pass via a Rank Cintel Mk III to DigiBeta tape. Footage was de-squeezed using Adobe Premiere Pro. *Note some of the distorted verticals which is due to the anamorphic lens not being rotated correctly...opps! *The dark vingetting seen in the corners of the final 2/3 shots is due to using a prime lens that is too wide for the actual x2 anamorphic's rear element coverage (in this case a 25mm f0.95 Angeniuex prime was used to establish max shooting angle). These tests are a similar set-up to Gaspar Noe's 'I Stand Alone' (1998) and Carlos Reygadas' 'Japon' (2002) movies, both of which used a x2 Anamorphic lens adapter in front of standard 16mm camera (Arriflex) for a final 2.66:1 frame composition. Both those films are worth seeking out for anyone with further interest in this format / ratio. *Again the friendly YouTube video codec has caused some funny compression issues with some of the image - sorry folks!

Final FIX: With or without 25fps output from CamStudio it might or might not work. Don't know why, don't know when, I rather convert all videos from CamStudio. It might be just some codec issue, but as I know some people have the same problem I leave the video tutorial here. It still can be helpful.
