This is my entry into BricksInMotion.com's Avant-Garde film contest. This film is in 3D, so you'll either need to view it using "Cross-Eyed Free Viewing" for the full-color experience or use 3D glasses. For cross-eyed viewing, set 3D to "side-by-side" and also check "Swap (right-left). To watch the video in 2D, just select "Turn off 3D" 3D pop-up menu. For help with 3D cross-eyed viewing, check out www.starosta.com For cross-eyed viewing, I think it also helps to use your right hand to block the right-most image from your right eye and your left hand to block the left-most image from your left eye. The result is that your eyes are slightly crossed and looking through the gap in between your hands. Remember that your right eye needs to be focused on the left-most image and vice-versa. Another trick that makes cross-eyed viewing a little easier is to sit back from the screen. Cross-eyed viewing takes some effort, but the cross-eyed technique produces vivid, full color images, unlike colored 3D glasses which distort and eliminate some color information. Good luck. DivX

The E3D offers several ways to take advantage of and enjoy its 4.3" glasses-free 3D display. It has the ability to view 3D videos in the official Android YouTube app. Users can even watch 3D movies, like Green Hornet 3D, which comes preloaded on the device. www.netbooknews.com Getting back to the technology at hand, MasterImage 3D is taking its CELL reference tablet and backed it with TI technology and showcased it at Computex last week. TI's active developer community will now have access to MaterImage's patented Cell-Matrix Parallax Barrier technology, which makes for autostereoscopic "glasses free" 3D display using a process called "Cell gap". What makes this iteration of no glasses 3D interesting is that when you leave the 3D viewing angle you are left with a near 180 degrees of crisp clear 2D viewing. Traditional 3D is based on "stripe technology" which doesn't offer the same ease of switching between 2D & 3D or offer the ability to switch between landscape and portrait viewing angles. The company also boasts the fact that its tech can work on any kind of display, from TFT to OLED, to PDP, while also having high yields at relatively "low cost," though we're not entirely sure how to quantify that. Their demo's were based on TI's PandaBoard sporting the OMAP4430 applications processor-based mobile software development platform. In addition to the 4.3" & 7" versions we spent some time with we can also expect to see a 10.1" version this summer. The video below doesn't do the no glasses 3D effect justice but it does give you an idea of how crisp the 2D viewing angles are.
