As we were finishing up breakfast Friday morning at ECCE, a B&B nestled in the Barryville mountainside overlooking the Delaware River and the Southern Tier, a horn sounded just north of us. Racing down to Shohola, we barely caught CEFX 3131 and NYS&W 3016 heading south with two empty TOFC's. We later caught this train, symboled BH-1, drilling dozens of stored TTX flatcars that were previously autoracks before being decapitated! Lead conductor Hank explained that they must have been working with up to 100 cars, using both the Southern Tier main line and the massive Shohola siding. This video captures the action from two locations. I had hoped to catch BH-1 heading back up to Bingo, but the three man crew outlawed in Shohola at 5pm. I give two thumbs up to Hank and his conductor trainee for being so friendly and informative.

On a cloudy morning with nothing to do I checked the NYS&W message board and read that NJT would be running equipment down today. So I set out to chase this rare move. One of the other members gave his estimates of when the train would be in certain areas along the line (he was pretty spot on.) So I got to my first spot in Franklin and had to wait no more then 10 minutes before the train came. I tried to get a shot in Sparta but the train was moving too fast and there were too many slow drivers. Resulting in my next shot being at Edison Road. I was actually really pleased with the shot here as well as the NYS&W backhoe in the background. Then I did a shot from 23 where you are looking up at the train. Next I went to Newfoundland where a whole bunch of people were already there waiting, I guess to get the only passenger train to pass that station in daylight since the excursion trains. I then was able to get a shot along 23, didn't come out great but figured why not put it in the video. Now for a spot I have been wanting to catch a Southbound train at since I discovered this spot, Matthew's Ave. I didn't have much time to set up but I defintely got the shot I was looking for. Finally we decided to go to Hawthorne. We were afraid we missed the train because we got stuck for every light on the Hamburg turnpike. Luckily we heard something on the scanner about a WSX on the mainline, we had no idea where it was or if it was affecting the NJT move but we continued on our way to <b>...</b>
