Ferrari has publicly unveiled the 458 Challenge at the Bologna Motor Show. Built for the company's single-racing series, the Challenge features a race suspension (with solid aluminum bushings, stiffer springs, and single-rate dampers), Brembo CCM2 brakes (from the 599XX), and 19-inch wheels with Pirelli tires. Furthermore, to reduce weight, the car has been outfitted with thinner body panels, carbon fiber components, and Lexan windows. Power is provided by a 4499cc V8 engine that produces 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. While this is the same as the 458 Italia, engineers modified the dual-clutch gearbox and installed 'F1-Trac' (traction control) with settings for wet and dry conditions. Thanks to all these changes, the 458 Challenge can lap the Fiorano test circuit in 1 minute, 16.5 seconds.

The Challenges are back in town! I have filmed this time four Ferrari 458 Challenges in different colours and liveries in the streets of Maranello. The video shows some of them driving on the road, a white one revving the engine and then we followed also a red one driving to the Fiorano racetrack. This is the new supercar dedicated to the Ferrari Challenge Championship. It is a very race car, with 570 hp and a great sound if compared to the normal 458. the next year it will race against the Ferrari 430 Challenge, and in the 2012 it will race alone. Another special edition of this car was photographed in the Track of Fiorano. That is the new Ferrari 458 GT2, with more power and better on the track.
