I went for a ride in Alberto's brand new Ferrari 458 Italia, one of the very first on the road! When i took the vid the car was just 2 days old (and so on break-in period for the engine), so it's still rare to see one! In the vid you can see it making a series of fly bys, revs, accelerations and ofcourse.. a onboard scene too. The sound coming from the engine is amazing as always for a Ferrari, it's also very fun to drive, expecially with the setup of the manettino in CT (traction controll off) as we did. Ferrari is showing off the 562 horsepower car with improvements to fuel consumption and CO2 emissions that, they say, sets "the benchmark in this segment." Using a mid-rear mounted 4.5-liter V8 engine, the 458 goes from 0-100 km/h in under 3.4 seconds on its way to a top speed of 325 km/h. The driver controls the engine with the Getrag F1 transmission, a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It has a 407 hp to tonne power-to-weight ratio, with a dry weight of about 1380 kg.

Slovenian tuner Akrapovic Exhaust Systems Technology has a new sound for the Ferrari 458 Italia and they want you to hear it. In this video you can see the Ferrari 458 Italia out for a little sprint in the fresh air with its distinct triple-piped, center-mounted exhaust. This time, though, it's fitted with a new system from exhaust specialists Akrapovic and true Ferrari connoisseurs can try to spot the differences in the sound. The new sport exhaust system helps the 458 Italia achieve an increase of 11 PS (8 kW) and 26 Nm of torque (19 lb-ft) over the standard exhaust all the while subtracting 14 kg from the curb-weight of the 458 due to its titanium make up. Akropovic specializes in titanium exhaust systems for both cars and motorbikes and supplies sport exhaust equipment to several major automotive tuning houses.

Today I met up with the owner of this gorgeous Ferrari 458 Italia to do a photo shoot of the car. After letting the car get up to temperature for awhile he gave it some healthy revs and while on our way to a photo location I got to experience the brutal acceleration and shifting in race mode! The award-winning Ferrari 458 Italia took centre stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today, alongside the new flagship V12 four-seater, the FF, and the front-engined V8 California. In a superb display of performance and power, the 458 Italia demonstrated its racing-derived pedigree in today's "Windows 7 Supercar Run". The V8 mid-rear engined supercar took to the famous hillclimb this morning in an exciting and passionate drive up the 1.16 mile course. The 458 Italia continues the Ferrari tradition of putting the thrill into driving thanks to years of track-derived technological innovations. Finished in a "bi-colore" scheme of Rosso Fuoco (dark red) with a Nero Daytona (black) roof, the 458 Italia captures the racing heritage with carbon-fibre F1-inspired front winglets and carbon-fibre intake manifold and engine bay. Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro driver, Marc Gené was also on hand today to put the 2010 Ferrari F10 single-seater, which was driven by Fernando Alonso during his fight for the F1 title last year, through its paces up the famous hillclimb course. There are also several fine examples of classic Ferraris from the 1950s, 60s and 70s on display at the Festival of Speed, including a unique 375 MM from 1953, a beautiful 246 Tasman from 1968 and a superb 312 B3 from 1973.
