The 45's "Superpill"

Check out the video to "Superpill"! Road dogs that've toured with everyone from the Mooney Suzuki and D4 to The Supersuckers, The Forty-Fives are serious contenders for best live band on the rock-n-roll/garage scene. Between tours, the band went into Detroit's Ghetto Recorders studio with The Dirtbombs Jim Diamond (the White Stripes, Andre Williams, the Sights) to record their new full-length, "High Life High Volume". The title says it all. This is an album that references The Forty-Fives' formative influences: early rock-n-roll including Kinks and Stones-era hooks coupled with the explosive live delivery of The Who and the MC5. Not content to rest on their garage-rock laurels, "High Life High Volume" features the band's most dynamic batch of originals to date.

Volquartsen Trigger Installation, Ruger 22/45 by Nutnfancy

The stock triggers on the Ruger 22/45s are adequate and they can shoot accurately in their stock form. But this .22 pistol comes alive with a Volquartsen Mk II trigger kit and bushing. With this installed the gun shoots faster and more accurately. Here I install and narrate the Volquartsen trigger kit for a Mk III 22/45. Along the way I remove the detent from the bolt release (for quicker reloading) and drop in the Mk II bushing which eliminates the ridiculous magazine safety in the gun. With the magazine safety gone, field stripping is greatly simplified and the mags now drop free in reloads. Work is shown in detail and explained, including the positioning of pre and over travel trigger screws. The transformation to Mk II status and removal of the mag safety can be done separately without having to install a new trigger btw. With this video you should be able to effect the install yourself and enjoy a greatly enhanced and funner to shoot 22/45. //////////////////Mk II/III installs will be similar in concept.////////////////////////Music: Original TNP production

45's - I'm In With The Out Crowd - Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs

Sam the Sham is the stage name of rock 'n' roll singer Domingo Sam Samudio (born 1937) from Dallas, Texas, USA. Sam the Sham was later known for camp robe and turban (inspiring Norton Records' 1994 Turban Renewal) and hauling his equipment in a 1952 Packard hearse with maroon velvet curtains. As the front man for the Pharaohs, he sang on a half dozen Top 40 hits in the mid-1960s, notably "Wooly Bully". Samudio, who is of Mexican American descent, made his singing debut in second grade, representing his school in a radio broadcast. Later, he took up guitar and formed a group with friends, one of whom was Trini Lopez. After graduating from high school, Samudio joined the navy, where he was known as "Big Sam" . He lived in Panama for six years, until his discharge. Back in the States, Samudio enrolled in college, "I was studying classical in the daytime and playing rock and roll at night" he recalled. "That lasted about two years, before I dropped out and became a carny."[1] He formed The Pharaohs in 1961 in Dallas. The other members were Carl Medke, Russell Fowler, Omar "Big Man Lopez and Vincent Lopez (not related to Omar). In 1962 the group made a record that did not sell. The Pharaohs disbanded in 1962. In May, 1963, Vincent Lopez was playing for Andy and The Nightriders in Louisiana. When their organist quit, Sam joined. Andy and The Nightriders was Andy Anderson, David A. Martin, Vincent Lopez and Sam. The Nightriders became house band at The Congo Club. It was here ...

"The Ruger 22/45: Shoot Forever" by Nutnfancy

You should have this gun in your inventory. Why? Because you don't shoot enough. Centerfire practice will bankrupt you and that discourages practice. Enter a high quality proven .22 pistol design that can improve your infrequent shooting habits. The are several great models to choose from but here's a favorite: The Ruger 22/45. It is a "staple gun" that provides amazingly fun and long lasting service in the recreation and training POUs. With its low recoil and lower noise levels, it is an unintimidating introduction gun for your new shooter. And as a fun and fast shooting pistol, it a great addition to your recreational options. The 22/45 is heavy at 34 ounces but as a infrequently-carried training and recreational gun, that doesn't matter too much (and actually helps minimize muzzle flip). From our 18 years of shooting these 22/45s, we find that both the Mark II and Mark 3 versions of the 22/45 achieve high levels of reliability. You will get an occasional jam which is on par for the type but with quality ammunition like CCI Mini Mags they are infrequent. The Mark 3 version superseded the Mark 2 version and both are discussed. The Mark 3 brought a few unwelcome "advancements:" a magazine disconnector (making both fieldstrip and quick mag changes more laborious; shooting without magazine inserted is now impossible), a loaded chamber indicator, a rounded trigger guard, and a thinned out grip. The magazine disconnector is a foolish addition to the design but the shooter can ...

From The WB 45. EDIT: HOLY CRAP!! Over 8,00 views? i think because this is the first result that comes up when you search this song. The reason WMG doesn't remove it is because it the turntable runs too fast! ALSO!!!!! No, I do not send MP3s of records, if you want this "better sounding; faster version" you can download the sound directly from this video using various softwares. I know people may be using this example of "this is the better sounding version, and it's on vinyl, so vinyl is better than digital." Well, partly true. On my new turntable, which spins at the CORRECT speed, this 45s sound EXACTLY the same as the iTunes downloadable version. 15000 views!?!?!?!?!? HOLY CRAP!!!

45's - Hey Senorita - The Penguins (Dooto)

The world knows The Penguins as the group that recorded "Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine),"one of the best-selling, most beloved oldies of all time. But to doo-wop fans, the group was more than just a one-hit wonder, and lead singer Cleve Duncan has kept The Penguins functioning as a viable outfit for the past 45 years. "I was singing at a talent show at the California Club on Santa Barbara Avenue [now MLK Blvd.]," says Cleve, "and Curtis Williams came up afterward and wanted to know if I'd form a group wth him." Curtis Williams had recently left The Hollywood Flames, with whom he had recorded a couple of singles. "So Curtis got [baritone] Bruce Tate from his high school [Jefferson] and I got [tenor] Dexter Tisby from my high school [Fremont]. We learned a few songs, got on some talent shows, sang in some clubs. Then Ted Brinson heard us and got involved." Dootsie Williams Before his death in 1991, Walter "Dootsie" Williams, owner of Dootone Records, recalled that he first heard about The Penguins from Brinson. "He had a backyard studio over on 30th Street between Arlington and Western that was very economical, so I recorded there. My stuff was mostly songwriters demos then. They'd pay me $300 and I'd record their song. So I heard the group and liked them. The first thing I did with them was a demo of a song called 'There Ain't No News Today,' which I released.' Another singer [Willie Headon] was on the other side."This single was credited to The Dootsie Williams Orchestra ...

45's - Earth Angel - The Penguins

"Earth Angel (Will You Be Mine)" is an American Doo Wop song, originally released by The Penguins in 1954 on the Dootone label (Dootone 348), as the B-side to "Hey Señorita". The song became a major hit for The Crew-Cuts in 1955, reaching the Billboard charts on January 29, 1955. It peaked at #3 on the Disk Jockey chart, #8 on the Best Seller and #8 on the Juke Box chart. The song was originally recorded as a demo at Ted Brinson's garage studio in South Los Angeles in October 1954, with producer Dootsie Williams. "Earth Angel" quickly outstripped its A-side in popularity, and reached number one on the Billboard R&B chart for three weeks in early 1955, and number eight on the pop chart. Covered many times since, the love song would prove to be the only Top 40 hit from the group. "Earth Angel" ranked 151st on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2004, it was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry

45's - Get Rhythm - Johnny Cash (Sun S1-1103)1969 Audience Dub Version

"Get Rhythm" is a 1956 rockabilly song, written and recorded by Johnny Cash. The song is about optimism, centering on a shoeshine boy who "gets rhythm" (spends part of his pay at a jukebox, to hear music) to cope with the tedious nature of his job. It was Cash's first number one single on the country charts. "Get Rhythm" was released in 1956 and went to Number One on the US country charts. In 1969, Cash re-released the song with applause dubbed in; this version went to #29 on the charts.

45's - Pink Shoe Laces - Dodie Stevens (Crystalette)

Dodie Stevens (born Geraldine Ann Pasquale, 17 February 1946, Chicago, Illinois) is an American pop singer. She is best known for her 1959 song "Pink Shoe Laces", which made her a star when she was only 13 years old. Stevens and her family moved to the San Gabriel Valley in California when she was three. She soon started taking singing and dancing lessons. In 1954, at the age of eight, she recorded her first song, "Merry-Go Merry-Go Round." The song was performed on the Art Linkletter's House Party TV show and issued on Gold Star Records under the name Geri Pace. The president of Crystalette Records, Carl Burns, happened to see her in a local show called "Strickly Informal." Mr. Burns gave her the name Dodie Stevens and the song "Pink Shoe Laces." Although Stevens did not initially like her new name or the song, she recorded "Pink Shoe Laces" in 1959 for the Crystalette label. The song reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She became the youngest female ever to sell a million copies of a single. Following the songs success, Dot Records signed her to a recording contract. In the early 1960s, she had several minor hit singles on Dot including "No" (Dot 16103) and "Yes I'm Lonesome Tonight" (Dot 16167),[1] as well as "Merry, Merry Christmas Baby"M. Sylvia / G. Lopez) and special lyrics by Jerry Ross (Dot 16166), which continues to enjoy considerable airplay during the Christmas season.

45's - Pretty Little Angel Eyes - Curtis Lee & The Halos

Curtis Lee (born 28 October 1941, Yuma, Arizona, US) is an American singer of the early 1960s and, twice over, one of the beneficiaries of 1961 productions by Phil Spector. These were "Pretty Little Angel Eyes" (US #7) and "Under the Moon of Love" (US #46). Lee began his recording career in 1959, and the following year was signed by Dunes Records after being invited to cut a demo if he came to New York. By the time he made it to New York in late 1960, he had started writing songs in partnership with a friend, Tommy Boyce, who later became one-half of the Boyce and Hart songwriting-producing-singing duo. Lee's first two singles, "Special Love" and "Pledge of Love," were passionate but otherwise unexceptional performances that understandably failed to chart, but for his third record, Dunes agreed to cut a Lee-Boyce original called "Pretty Little Angel Eyes." Handsome and photogenic, Lee had a vocal approach close to the teen idols of the period. Spector's genius with the productions, besides his deft handling of the instrumental support, was to provide fills with strong doo-wop riffing from an R&B vocal group, The Halos, to produce two classic rock and roll tunes. The Halos appeared on "Pretty Little Angel Eyes", and would achieve further recognition by backing up Barry Mann on "Who Put The Bomp (in the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)". In the UK, "Pretty Little Angel Eyes" was a minor hit record, going no higher than #47 in 1961. Without Spector's guiding hand, Lee's hits dried up. He ...

45's - Cry, Cry, Cry - Johnny Cash

"Cry, Cry, Cry" is a song written and recorded by Johnny Cash. It was Cash's first recording that found an audience. It centers on an apparently unfaithful lover. The fact that it was Cash's first successful tune was mentioned several times in the dialogue of the 2005 film, Walk the Line. While it appeared in the film's soundtrack album, it was not performed in the film (two deleted scenes show the Johnny Cash character, Joaquin Phoenix, composing the song in the basement of his house and later listening to it on the radio). It was the second side of his 1955 debut release. On the front side was "Hey Porter". Although Hey Porter failed to hit the charts, Cry Cry Cry got in at number six in country. Marty Stuart released a cover of the song in 1989; his version peaked at #32. Third Eye Blind have also covered the song in a rare recording with Merle Haggard. Elvis Costello also released a cover of this song in 1982 as the B side to "I'm Your Toy". For the Johnny Cash tribute album All Aboard: A Tribute to Johnny Cash (released in October 2008) the Canadian punk rock band The Flatliners did a cover of this song as well.

North American B-45 Tornado

The North American B-45 Tornado was the United States Air Force's first operational jet bomber, and the first jet aircraft to be refuelled in the air. The B-45 was an important part of the United States's nuclear deterrent for several years in the early 1950s, but was rapidly succeeded by the Boeing B-47 Stratojet. B-45s and RB-45s served in the United States Air Force's Tactical Air Command from 1950 until 1959. Continuously plagued by engine problems along with numerous other minor flaws, the B-45 regained importance when the United States entered the Korean War in 1950 and would prove its value both as a bomber and in a reconnaissance role. The mass dedication of US Forces to the Korean War revealed the vulnerability of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization forces in Europe to Soviet attack and it was in this light that the Air Force made an important decision about the future of the B-45. The B-45, like all post WWII US bombers, could carry both nuclear and conventional bombs. The progression of weapons technology had led to a great reduction in the weight and size of atomic and thermonuclear weapons in US inventory, effectively allowing smaller aircraft such as the B-45 to carry out nuclear strikes, a mission which had initially been limited to heavy bombers. Suddenly, the small fleet of B-45's had great value again as a nuclear deterrent. The program Backbreaker entailed difficult modifications to the aircraft due to many distinct atomic bomb types which were in ...

45's - Hey Porter - Johnny Cash (Sun)

Hey Porter is a song by Johnny Cash. It was recorded in September 1954 and released as a single in July the following year.Cash wrote the song while on his way home from a four year stint in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Landsberg, Germany, and was happy to be returning to his native South. LYRICS: Hey porter! Hey porter! Would you tell me the time? How much longer will it be till we cross that Mason Dixon Line? At daylight would ya tell that engineer to slow it down? Or better still, just stop the train, Cause I wanna look around. Hey porter! Hey porter! What time did ya say? How much longer will it be till I can see the light of day? When we hit Dixie will you tell that engineer to ring his bell? And ask everybody that ain't asleep to stand right up and yell. Hey porter! Hey porter! It's getting light outside. This old train is puffin' smoke, and I have to strain my eyes. But ask that engineer if he will blow his whistle please. Cause I smell frost on cotton leaves and I feel that Southern breeze. Hey porter! Hey porter! Please get my bags for me. I need nobody to tell me now that we're in Tennessee. Go tell that engineer to make that lonesome whistle scream, We're not so far from home so take it easy on the steam. Hey porter! Hey porter! Please open up the door. When they stop the train I'm gonna get off first Cause I can't wait no more. Tell that engineer I said thanks alot, and I didn't mind the fare. Christmas 45's - Jingle Bell Rock ('67 version) - Bobby Helms

Please check out both of my channels for more great christmas music! This recording is from the 1967 Little Darlin' label sessions. Robert Lee Helms (August 15, 1933 June 19, 1997), better known as Bobby Helms, was an American country music singer who enjoyed his peak success in 1957 with his smash hit, "Jingle Bell Rock." Though his name is unfamiliar to most, Bobby Helms rules the airwaves every year around December 25th. His single "Jingle Bell Rock" first became a hit in 1957, and it reappeared on the charts four of the following five years to become an all-time Christmas classic. Before he was pigeonholed, though, Helms had a successful country career with two number one hits to his credit. Born in Bloomington, IN, Helms first performed on his father Fred's Monroe County Jamboree, singing while brother Freddie played guitar. The Helms Brothers, as they were billed, became a regional attraction. Bobby later cut a single called "Tennessee Rock and Roll," but then returned to Bloomington to appear on the Hayloft Frolic television show. While on the program, he was encouraged to go to Nashville to sing background vocals on an Ernest Tubb session. Tubb recommended him to Decca Records, and the label signed him in 1956. His debut single, "Fraulein," initially flopped in January 1957 but then hit number one on the country chart in April. (The song also hit the pop Top 40 in July of 1957.) In October, Helms released another number one, "My Special Angel," which stayed four ...

45's - In A Land Where We'll Never Grow Old - T. Texas Tyler

It was written by James Moore (1888 - 1962), a young Baptist pastor. In 1914, when he was just 26. He had gone home to the church his aging father was the pastor of, and when his father - Charles Robert Moore - tried to sing, his voice was frail and weak. James wrote this hymn shortly after, and dedicated it to his parents. It was recorded by Smith's Sacred Singers from northern Georgia, said to be the first ever "country gospel" record. The Smith's Sacred Singers record was a phenomenon - it sold over 277000 copies. Many artists since have recorded and had great success with this song including Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Eddy Arnold, The Carter Family, T. Texas Tyler and countless others. 1. I have heard of a land on the faraway strand, Tis a beautiful home of the soul; Built by Jesus on high, where we never shall die, Tis a land where we never grow old. * Refrain: Never grow old, never grow old, In a land where well never grow old; Never grow old, never grow old, In a land where well never grow old. 2. In that beautiful home where well never more roam, We shall be in the sweet by and by; Happy praise to the King through eternity sing, Tis a land where we never shall die. 3. When our work here is done and the life-crown is won, And our troubles and trials are oer; All our sorrow will end, and our voices will blend, With the loved ones whove gone on before.

BAE Systems - HMS Diamond Type 45 Destroyer 1st Entry To Portsmouth Harbour [1080p]

22 Sep 2010 Portsmouth, United Kingdom: Diamond, the third Type 45 anti-air warfare destroyer built by BAE Systems for the Royal Navy, has been handed over to the Ministry of Defence (MOD) at a ceremony at Portsmouth Naval Base. Members of the ship's company raised the white ensign for the first time onboard Diamond, as the Royal Navy's Commodore Steve Brunton formally accepted the destroyer on behalf of the MOD in Portsmouth, where she will join her sister ships HMS Daring and HMS Dauntless. Angus Holt, UK Programmes Director at BAE Systems' Surface Ships division, said: "Diamond is an exceptional ship and we are proud to hand her over to the Royal Navy today. The Type 45 programme is a great example of an effective partnership between industry, the Royal Navy and the Ministry of Defence to deliver enhanced capability to our armed forces. "Our work on Diamond and her sister ships now continues, providing in-service support to the ship and the rest of the fleet, to ensure that they meet the UK's operational requirements." Head of Destroyers, Commodore Steve Brunton, said: "It is a huge privilege to accept this magnificent ship on behalf of the MOD, hot on the heels of HMS Daring's acceptance into service with the Navy. "With five ships in the water - one in service, two in MOD hands and two more on contractor trials - 2010 has been an extremely busy year on the Type 45 programme already and is still to see the last of the class, Duncan, launched down the slipway into the ...

SYN 45s Grounded - Flowerman - 14 Hour... Dream YES

Chris Squire, in his old band from 1967, performs 3 of their 4 singles. Steven Nardelli is the original singer, and still sounds great. Yes man, Alan White, joined the band for this US tour. I recorded this part of the show using my Sony T7 digital snapshot camera. It was without question one of the top 20 Yes-related moments in my life.

Christmas 45's - White Christmas - Walter Brennan

Walter Brennan (July 25, 1894 September 21, 1974) was an American actor. Highly regarded as a film character actor, Brennan won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor three times. He is tied with Jack Nicholson for the most Academy Award wins for a male actor. Brennan appeared in several other movies and television programs, usually, as an eccentric "old timer" or "prospector". He also made a few recordings, the most popular being "Old Rivers" about an eccentric but much-beloved farmer; it was released as a single in 1962 by Liberty Records with "The Epic Ride Of John H. Glenn" on the flip side, and peaked at number 5 in the US Billboard charts. In his music, Brennan sometimes worked with Allen "Puddler" Harris, a Louisiana native who was a member of the original Ricky Nelson Band. Unlike many actors, Brennan's career never really went into decline. As the years went on, he was able to find work in dozens of high quality films, and later television appearances throughout the 1950s and 60s. As he grew older, he simply became a more familiar, almost comforting film figure whose performances continued to endear him to new generations of fans. In all, he would appear in more than 230 film and television roles in a career spanning nearly five decades.

45's - Kung Fu Fighting - Carl Douglas

"Kung Fu Fighting" is a song written and performed by Carl Douglas and Vivian Hawke. It was released as a single in 1974, at the cusp of a chopsocky film craze, and quickly rose to the top of British and American charts. "Kung Fu Fighting" was also number one on the soul singles chart for one week. The song also is famous for its use of the quintessential Oriental Riff, a short musical phrase that is used to signify Chinese culture. It originally was meant to be a B-side to I Want to Give You My Everything by Brooklyn songwriter Larry Weiss, and was recorded in the last ten minutes of his studio time. This song has been featured prominently in pop culture including Mott's Clamato advertisements. Douglas states that his inspiration to write the song was affected by three factors: he had seen a kung fu movie, later visited a jazz concert by Oscar Peterson, and was suffering from side-effects of pain killers (Douglas had injured his foot playing football). Another account gives his inspiration simply as seeing two kids in London doing kung fu moves. Kung Fu Fighting was rated #100 in VH1's "100 Greatest one-hit wonders, and number 1 in the UK Channel 4's Top 10 One Hit Wonders list in 2000, the same channel's 50 Greatest One Hit Wonders poll in 2006 and Bring Back ... the one-hit Wonders, for which Carl Douglas performed the song in a live concert.
