Electricity Meter: Ferranti F2K-50B Prepayment Meter.

My fourth meter video! This is a Ferranti F2K-50B meter. This one does have slightly different charactreristics to the FPQ. Details for this meter: 240V, 50Hz, one phase-two wire, 60A max load, with 187.5 revs per kWh wheel-speed. These meters (unlike the APQ and FPQ) have a simple row of numbers instead of the dials and are much easier to read. These meters were used by electricity boards up until around the mid 1990s in the UK, and although you can no longer request one of these from your supplier, these are still widely in use as secondary meters by private landlords in their rented accommodation, so therefore, I will not be taking any questions on how to hack / bypass / tweak adjust or modify these meters, nor will I be showing any of the internals of these Ferranti (or Smith Equivalent) prepayment meters, as I do not wish to be responsible or liable for landlords' meters being hacked / tweaked / bypassed as a result of any information that I have given! These meters were later made, once again by Ferranti, Hollinwood, England. The F2K-50B is one of my favourites, and was the first of many makes and models of prepayment meter that I have bought over the years. My first F2K-50B meter was bought in Feb 1993, and at that point in time, electricity boards were still phasing out these mechanical Smith / Ferranti pre-payment meters and replacing them with electronic 'key' meters.
