In this video you can hear the sound of the new Ferrari 599XX Evolution in action on the track of Monza. The V12 engine sounds really good ( the FXX is a lot better, for me) especially during the various downshifts. I have also to say that in first person the rear wing is not so ugly. Now it's even more powerful with a total of 750hp / 700NM and a 35kg weight reduction. The package includes also many important aerodinamic modifications and a new huge rear wing which is actuated automatically according to specific parameters which are integrated with the car's other control functions (ESP, ABS, SCM and F1-Trac). An outfit like Ferrari keeps a tight product portfolio. Four model lines in all, when it comes down to production models. Even with the various derivatives that follow, that still doesn't amount to a large number of new debuts from year to year. But as a racing team first and an automaker second, it rolls out a new vehicle at least once a year. What falls between, then, bridges the gap. What comes in between a road car and an F1 car, you ask? With a rapidly escalation level of crossover in technologies, less and less. But the narrow territory we're talking about is the XX development program -- what Ferrari terms as their elite cadre of "client development drivers." That is, the customers who are willing to shell out big bucks -- and we do mean big bucks -- to test out the latest technological developments on the path from F1 cars to road cars. The program initially launched with the FXX, an Enzo-based track car that was neither homologated for any racing series nor certified for road use (save a handful of well-heeled customers in some small countries where cash can overcome regulation). That was later improved upon with the FXX Evoluzione, an upgrade offered to existing owners/participants in the program. That, in turn, was succeeded by the 599XX, which has now led, somewhat expectedly, to the 599XX Evoluzione. They are built to reflect the owner's XX cars; number 27 and 7. With matching paint jobs that differ from the standard GTO style, carrying the numbers at the side as well as the blue one featuring the door-mirrors of the XX they look pretty good! I've named them the 'XX' Edition for lack of a more descriptive term, would you have one to match your 599XX Evoluzione if you could? You can also see some other lovely cars present including another 'stock' GTO from Connecticut, USA, a Superamerica and also a yellow 612 Scaglietti. Today I saw this really rare beast at Monza Circuit. Only 19 model of the F40 LM and I was very lucky to find one still racing on the track. You don't imagine how it is well maintained: all the parts of the car are clear as the car left the Ferrari factory only yesterday. I haven't any words to describe this beauty. I have filmed 4 of the 30 Ferrari FXXs ever made, but these are equipped with the Evoluzione pack, giving to the car a power of 860hp. The noise of the engine is frightening, very loud and extremely melodic, something that you would hear with pleasure every day. The Ferrari FXX is a high performance race car built by automobile manufacturer Ferrari in Maranello, Italy. The FXX is based on the street-legal Enzo. Production of the FXX began in 2005. The Ferrari FXX program will continue until 2008/2009. The car will continue to be improved under the Evolution kit, which will continually adjust specifics to create more power, quicker gear changes, and to lower the car's aerodynamic drag. The V12 engine will generate 860 PS (630 kW; 850 hp) at 9500 rpm giving theoretical top speed of 400 km/h (249 mph) but is limited to 340 km/h (211 mph) and 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. The 599XX is a car designed for track use, based on 599 GTB. The rev limiter is raised to 9000rpm, with the engine rated for 700 PS (510 kW; 690 hp)@9000rpm. Weight is reduced by cutting the weight of the engine unit components, and use of composites and carbon-fibre body parts, carbon-fibre brake pads. A new gearbox shift strategy is introduced to cut overall gear change time to 60 ms. Aerodynamics were retuned to give more downforce (280 kg @ 200 km/h, 630 kg @ 300 km/h). The car also includes 29/67 R19 front and 31/71 R19 rear tires with 19 x 11J wheel rims at the front and 19 x 12J at the rear.
