Endre Szemerédi wins the mathematics equivalent of the Nobel Prize - the 2012 Abel Prize. He wins 6000000 Norwegian Kroner for his troubles. A note from James about a mistake he made discussing the primes proof: "I attributed the theorem to Tim Gowers when I should have attributed it to Green and Tao. See what I did - they have the same initials! Between the three of them, Green and Tao and Tim Gowers, they're responsible for all the major stuff to do with that theorem - and they have the same initials! And references use initials!! Gah. Ben Green is also a Cambridge mathematician." And a note from Brady: "Sorry this got through... James was speaking unscripted and as you can hear was responding to an unexpected question... Mistakes are inevitable in this situation but we still hate them and correct them when we can." Nazywa się Łukasz Rostkowski, ma 28 lat, jest producentem, raperem i kompozytorem. Stworzył Kanał Audytywny, jeden z najciekawszych w ostatnich latach awangardowych projektów muzycznych. Nagrał "Planet LUC", album z pogranicza muzyki, filmu i literatury, na którym rozprawiał się z naszym "sowiet mentalem". To była płyta o sztampolandzie io tym, jak siebie nie szanujemy. O królowej prowizorce. Zacząłem szukać przyczyn tego stanu. Jego geneza tkwi w latach 39/89. Stąd nowy projekt. Urodził się w Zielonej Górze, teraz mieszka we Wrocławiu. W porównaniu z Warszawą to inny świat. Ziemie, które żyją własnym życiem opowiada. Wspomina się tam przesiedlenia, zajmowanie poniemieckich domów, szmuglowanie papierosów do Niemiec. Niewiele tam patriotyzmu. Oczywiście, mamy polskie paszporty, chodzimy na mecze reprezentacji, ale ludzi fascynuje raczej to, że mogą wskoczyć na autostradę i szybko pojechać w Alpy. Kiedy przed dwoma laty LUC spędził kilka miesięcy w Warszawie, coś się wydarzyło. Rozmawiałem z rdzennymi warszawiakami. Byłem zdumiony, jak mocno podkreślają swój patriotyzm, związek z Warszawą i powstaniem. Tu każdy kogoś stracił. Tutaj Polskę się ceni. Ludzie chodzą w labiryncie brzydolągów, wiedząc, dlaczego tak to wszystko wygląda.
