I took the opportunity to test out my ickle new digicam by reviewing this clever little bit of kit :). **Note - Assuming I've exported the thing right, Video resolution should be 1280x760** so you should be able to watch in HD. **IMPORTANT NOTE*** As far as I am aware, this lens works for ALL nikon F mount cameras, including the D3100, D90, D5000 D5100 etc etc. Some features (VR, AF) might not work on very old (pre D1) cameras. This is our second video test of the Nikon D3100. In our first video we noticed a fair amount of noise while the lens auto-focused as well as an inconsistent speed on the focus. This time around we are trying to fix these problems but using a tripod and using a faster and more silent lens. The lens used for the video is the Tamron 70-300 USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive). From our results we have concluded that the lens lives up to its name and expectations.

Getting a feel for the Nikon D5000 with three tele lenses. Nikkor 55-200 Nikkor 18-55 Nikkor 70-300 Lighting was from a 95 watt house lamp with a yellow lamp shade attached. Tripod was a cheap dynex video tripod. I was too lazy to go and get the manfrotto. So there is wobble in the video and shake. In my opinion the video is decent, I will be using this d5000 as a B camera to my HMC150 for some shoots. Definitely not the best camera for DSLR video but with a decent lens collection I feel it's very possible to create some very extraordinary scenes in the right hands. There is a lot of CMOS "wobble" when moving around too much, a good tripod is highly recommended.
