This was my first flight with the GoPro HD HERO camera mounted to my Align Trex 700N R/C Helicopter. The first flight was recorded in HD video and the second flight was using the "snapshot every 10 seconds" feature. But, all of it was in the same area. The camera was mounted using only the hardware that came with the GoPro HD Helmet HERO kit. I used the mount extender and the flat 3M foam adhesive base to mount the camera to the nose of the main frame. You will notice that there are two sources of video. One is from the HD HERO and the other is from my Sony Handycam held by my friend. I edited the video to show various maneuvers of the helicopter and how it looked from both the ground and the HD HERO. I am going to try various settings on the HD HERO (60 fps for slow motion) and also try using a tripod for the ground camera to center the helicopter better. I will be doing more of these flights from various locations in my region. The "bird's eye" perspective is so exciting to watch. I feel like I was up there in person!
