The Langweil model of Prague
The Langweil model of Prague (Langweilův model Prahy) as a three-dimensional illustration of the city is a unique work of art unlike any other in the world. The model made from paperboard on a wooden construction was created in 1826-1837 by Antonín Langweil, an assistant at the university library in the Klementinum. The model contains over two thousand buildings from the historic heart of Prague in a perfect and realistic state with all the structural and decorative details of the facades. Approximately half of the buildings in the model were later demolished or radically rebuilt in the real Prague. www.langweil.cz

Svatováclavská kaple (St. Wenceslas Chapel)
Perhaps the most outstanding place in the St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle in Prague is the Chapel of St. Wenceslas, where the relics of the saint are kept. The room was built by Peter Parler between 1344 and 1364 and has a ribbed vault. The lower part of the walls are wonderfully decorated with over 1300 semi-precious stones and paintings about the Passion of Christ dating from the original decoration of the chapel in 1372-1373. The upper part of the walls have paintings about the life of St Wenceslas, created by the Master of the Litoměřice Altarpiece between 1506 and 1509. In the middle of the wall there is a gothic statue of St Wenceslas executed by Jindrich Parler (Peter's nephew) in 1373. Unfortunately the Chapel is not accessible by members of the public, but can be viewed from its doorways instead. A small door with seven locks, in the south-western corner of the chapel, leads to the Crown Chamber containing the Bohemian Coronation Jewels.

In 1424 Sigismund had a collection of relics, including the lance, moved from his capital in Prague to his birth place, Nuremberg, and decreed them to be kept there forever.
