S.709, for 2-track tape & at least 4 loudspeakers (1994) After composing GENDY3, Xenakis extended the GENDY program, adding the possibility of modulating the parameters of the dynamic stochastic synthesis algorithm. With this version of the program, Xenakis created S.709. S.709 premiered at a concert at La Maison de Radio-France in December 1994. Its title stands for Sequence 709. Sequence was the name that Xenakis gave to the sections created by the PARAG program. In a radio interview, Brigitte Robindoré, head of musical production at Les Ateliers UPIC, said about S.709: "It's unedited. It's unrestrained." It could then be inferred that S.709 consists of the output of only one PARAG program: it could be a PARAG section of 7 minutes in length. In this piece, the rapid and periodic modulation of the parameters creates voices that are constantly and widely fluctuating in pitch, amplitude and timbre. In the same radio interview, Robindoré mentions that S.709 "produces quite a polemical reaction in the audience." This is not surprising; this work is extremely original in its materials and in its construction; it does not resemble any other piece by Xenakis, nor any other piece that I have ever heard. Whenever the character is twitching (while moving) it's because he's starving. The game has a nice ingame map system which you can call forth when you need to know where you are in the game by usnig a Bird Totem. For some reason it didn't work properly for me. All that happened was I got the white cross in the middle of the screen, but no map. Maybe it was caused by some bad settings in the emulator or a broken version of the game, donno. At around 13:19 I removed the "Cycle-exact" (emulator setting) to speed up the game a bit, especially the fights. In Hemsath's Tomb I was a few Gold Keys short to open all the gold doors, so I used the door bug instead of exiting the tomb and killing monsters till I had the missing keys. Was just a time saver, not really a cheat imo. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stats info: Brv = Bravery: The more you have, the harder you are to hit I think, also when you get bravery points you now and then get Vit (vitality) points aswell, which is your health. A look at the take down procedure for the Taurus PT740 and PT709 series of handguns. This gun disassembles rather easy once you've got a few simple steps down. After the break down I'll show you a quick reassembly and maybe some shooting for good measure. I have to say, I really like this .40 caliber sub-compact pistol. And I think it looks beautiful with the two-tone stainless steel look. It also doesn't hurt that I haven't had any reliability issues with it after around 1000 rounds either! The gun is basically stock other than two upgrades: First I added the a laser sight system, the Crimson Trace LG-447 Laserguard. I also replaced the stock front sight with a TruGlo universal fiber optic shotgun sight for high visibility during the day.
