BNSF 4913 East and 7419 West pass in Shabbona, Illinois on 4-25-09

I caught this autorack train on the south side of Lee, Illinois. Scanner chatter indicated that 4913 would be pulling into the siding at Shabbona to allow a westbound to pass. So 4913 is slowing as it goes by since Shabbona is not too far beyond the flashing signal. The next scene is 4913 waiting and 7419 West roaring past. Finally 4913 scares a few birds as it gets rolling again. Photos at: www.flickr.com I had a nice conversation with a family whose house was next to the area from where I was shooting in Shabbona. The mother said that she slept with earplugs; that they could not have windows open at night and that the house shook as trains went by. I like putting these short narratives together when the opportunity presents. Not simply the usual train going by. Also, one of the crew got off 4913 for a bit while it was waiting. (You can see the open door.) And the conductor deliberately opened his window as the train slowly went by and gave a wave. Nice. Please watch in HD and comment.
