This is my first video tutorial. Landing at Heathrow Airport (BA 747-400)
I had made this video as my flight British Airways 747-400 (non-stop) from Los Angeles landing at Heathrow (London, UK). For some reason my window fogged in certain areas so I was only able to record through the bottom portion of my window. Popular London landmarks are visible (hopefully, graphics might be low and my camera doesn't zoom while recording) so, I hope the quality is OK. The movie has not been edited; it's my first video so, better videos should come soon after. ...ENJOY!!!!

Courtesy: DoD Missile Defense Agency www.mda.mil The Airborne Laser Testbed operates aboard a modified Boeing 747-400, and is designed to detect, track and kill ballistic missiles in their boost phase using a high energy laser. Airborne Laser Testbed (ALTB) The Airborne Laser Testbed (ALTB) is being developed as an advanced platform for MDAs directed energy research program. Using two solid state lasers and a megawatt-class Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser housed aboard a modified Boeing 747-400 Freighter, the ALTB uses directed energy to demonstrate the potential of using directed energy as a viable technology against ballistic missiles. Firing Sequence The Airborne Laser Testbed uses six infrared sensors to detect the exhaust plume of a boosting missile. Once a target is detected, a kilowatt-class solid state laser, the Track Illuminator, tracks the missile and determines a precise aim point. The Beacon Illuminator, a second kilowatt-class solid state laser, then measures disturbances in the atmosphere, which are corrected by the adaptive optics system to accurately point and focus the high energy laser at its intended target. Using a very large telescope located in the nose turret, the beam control/fire control system focuses the megawatt-class COIL beam onto a pressurized area of the boosting missile, holding it there until the concentrated energy compromises the structural integrity of the threat missile causing it to fail.

Philippine Airlines (RP-C7473) Boeing 747-400 Emergency landing at LAX
A Philippine Airlines jumbo jet declared an emergency because of a possible blown tire, but the plane was able to land safely at Los Angeles International Airport. The pilot initially descended to a low altitude so a police helicopter could inspect the tire's condition, then pulled up again and circled before landing. The Boeing 747 then touched down smoothly around 9 pm Friday. The aircraft idled on the runway as fire trucks and other ground crews surrounded it. It turns out that two tires had blown. An airport spokeswoman said 400 passengers and 20 crew members were aboard the plane.

www.youtube.com - Seat 42K on a British Airways 747-400. June 2008. This was a great flight for a number of reason. Loved the timing, it took off around 10pm from JFK and landed around 9ish in the morning in London. The service was great as always. I ordered a special meal - which meant i got my meal pipping hot and before anyone else got theirs! The seats in British Airways economy class have great legroom, i have flown a number of different airlines and if i were a betting man, i would say that BA has the best eco legspace! These seats are somewhat noisy - cos you sitting behind the wings towards the tail end of the plane. All in all - this was a great flight. First you see the footage directly from Craig's camera, then you see Craig's footage being shown on Los Angeles area TV news networks. Right after Craig recorded this footage he went to various TV networks with his VHS tape and made some money as they would "buy" his footage and air it that night. The 747-400 lost the #2 engine after a fan blade broke off, they proceeded to dump fuel and land back at LAX from over the ocean to expedite the arrival.
