The show is inspired from the famous humorous column 'Duniya Ne Undha Chasma' written by the eminent Gujarati writer Mr. Tarak Mehta. This story evolves around happenings in "Gokuldham Co-operative Society" and covers topical issues which are socially relevant.The show predominantly - Promoolves around 'Jethalaal' (Dilip Joshi) who is an uneducated Gujarati businessman. Your 'Taarak Mehta' (Sailesh Lodha), is his neighbour. 'Jethalaal' finds a friend and philosopher in 'Taarak Mehta' and often goes to him for advice whenever he is in trouble. Jethalaal's family includes his simpleton wife 'Daya Ben' (Disha Wakani) and a mischievous son 'Tapu' (Bhavya Gandhi). Tapu is a menace and a constant source of trouble to all the members of Gokuldham. They have often warned 'Jethalaal' to reform 'Tapu' or else be prepared to leave the premises. Lost hopes of being heard by his son pushes Jethalaal' to call his father 'Champaklal' (Amit Bhatt) from the village. This was his great idea of leashing some control over the mischievous Tapu. The opposite happens and the grandfather joins hands with the grandson to make life a roller coaster troublesome ride for Jethalaal.

U-869 wreck off of Pt. Pleasant, NJ
2005 visit to the infamous U-Who submarine, a type IX german WWII sub sunk in early 1945, and discovered by Capt. Bill Nagle in Sept. 1991. Two books have been written about this particular shipwreck, "The Last Dive" and "Shadow Divers". Es ist im Jahr 1945 vor der nordamerikanischen Küste, 70 km vor New Jersey, gesunken und heute als Wrack betauchbar. Im Jahr 1991 wurde es zufällig von einem Fischerboot entdeckt und in den folgenden Jahren von amerikanischen Tauchern (ua John Chatterton und Richard Kohler) in einer Wassertiefe von 70 Metern mehrfach betaucht. Ende der 90er Jahre konnte es anhand einer Ersatzteilkiste, die sich im schwer zugänglichen Elektromotorenraum befand, eindeutig identifiziert werden. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt gab es in den historischen Unterlagen keinen Hinweis auf ein dort gesunkenes deutsches U-Boot, da man annahm, U 869 sei in der Nähe von Gibraltar gesunken. Nach dem Fund wurde vermutet, dass das Boot durch einen fehlgeleiteten Torpedo versenkt worden war. Diese Theorie konnte zwar nicht die Schäden am Boot erklären, aber es gab keine bessere, da es in dieser Region keine Angriffe auf U-Boote gegeben zu haben schien. Erst im Juni 2005 wurde U 869 mit einem Vorfall, in den die US-Zerstörer Crow und Koiner verwickelt waren, in Verbindung gebracht. Am 11. Februar 1945 warfen sie Wasserbomben auf ein vermeintliches U-Boot. Der Sonarkontakt bewegte sich jedoch nicht und obwohl Luftblasen und Öl an die Oberfläche traten, wurde der Vorfall als Angriff auf ein Wrack angesehen. Auch nach dem Krieg, als Unterlagen der Alliierten mit denen der Deutschen abgeglichen wurden, gab es keinen Hinweis darauf, dass ein U-Boot in der Nähe gewesen sein könnte, wodurch der Vorfall in Vergessenheit <b>...</b>
