The receiver also has the 1920 Versailes Treaty "permission stamp" which limited the Weimar government to 100000 rifles. The Gewehr 98, named for 1898, the first year of its manufacture, superseded the earlier Model 1888 Commission Rifle (also known as Gewehr 88) in German service. The G98 itself was the latest in a line of Mauser rifles that were introduced in the 1890s. It was a bolt-action rifle, 1250 mm in length and 4.09 kilograms in weight. It had a 740 mm long rifled barrel and carried 5 rounds of 7.92 x 57 mm Mauser ammunition in an internal magazine. Everything is original.

I have been restoring/preserving some of my family's old 8mm home movies, and this is vintage footage of my father, mother, brother and grandmother (filmed by mostly by my dad) in New York on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954, during the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The clip shows several floats as they pass near Times Square, including Felix the Cat, a Macy's toy soldier, a pink elephant, roller skaters and Santa Claus... as well as the giant Christmas tree and holiday ice skaters at Rockefeller Center.

I have been restoring/preserving some of my family's old 8mm home movies, and this is vintage footage of my mom and brother (filmed by my dad) in and around Miami, Florida in the mid 1950's. The clip includes embarkation for a Bahamas cruise (on the ship SS Florida) from the Port of Miami... which, at the time, was located just off Biscayne Boulevard at the site of the present day American Airlines Arena and Bicentennial Park... the Miami News tower (now known as the 'Freedom Tower') can be seen in the background along with glimpses of the tops of the old Columbus and McAllister hotels. Other parts of the clip show the Goodyear blimp, a Cuban airliner taxying at Miami International Airport and scenes from the old Crandon Park Zoo and kiddie train ride on Key Biscayne.

JUST A TEST Setup: Sony NEX VG20 Rokinon 8mm fish (manual set to f22) Shot: 1080 60p 28mbps (highest quality) Stero audio (camera can also do 5.1 surround) Periodically changed gain and shutter speed to test quality (set to extremes-ultimately ruined shots) I think I did a manual white balance with shift for this also. Rendered: H.264 Compression 1080 60p Editing: I lowered the sound level on the skating. The microphone has exceptionally great audio quality. No color correction. Slow mo'd the last clip at 50 percent to check out how it looks. Photo: Also, if you didn't know, the camera is a hybrid camcorder/DSLR with ability to interchange lenses. So, I scaled down and put in a test of the photography capabilities at the end (highest quality-all auto on cam-f22 on lense) Shot in JPEG (Also shoots in RAW) Comments: I really jacked up the shots. I messed with the gain and shutter speed way to much. Looked good on the camera display but as you can tell everything is really grainy and too dark or bright. Now I know to fix the settings for next time. Art: Sorry I deleted all your footy lol. First time using memory instead of tapes and I was messing everything up lol.
