In 1985 Porsche introduced the 944 Turbo, a higher-performance variant, known internally as the 951 (952 for right-hand drive models). This had a turbocharged and intercooled version of the standard car's engine that produced 220 hp (217 in the US) at 6000 rpm. The turbo was the world's first car using a ceramic portliner to retain exhaust gas temperature. The Turbo also featured several other revisions, such as improved aerodynamics, strengthened gearbox, standard transmission oil cooler, wider wheels, and upgraded suspension. Major engine component revisions, more than thirty in all, were made to the 951 to compensate for increased internal loads and heat. 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo (US Model)In 1988, Porsche introduced the 944 Turbo S. The 944 Turbo S had a more powerful engine (designation number M44/52) with 247 hp (compared to the standard 944 Turbo's 217 hp) and 350 Nm torque (or 258 ft·lbf, versus 243 ft·lbf). This higher output was achieved by using a larger turbo housing on the exhaust side, and a remapped engine computer. In June 1988, Car and Driver tested the 944 Turbo S and achieved a 0-60 mph time of 5.5 seconds and a quarter mile time of 13.9 seconds at 101 mph (163 km/h). The intake manifold features an additional vacuum port for two total vacuum ports, but intake manifolds can be swapped between S and non-S cars. The 944 Turbo S's suspension was the then state-of-the-art "M030" option consisting of upgraded Koni adjustable shocks front and rear, ride height <b>...</b>

After a year of work trying to get the engine in, here is the first run of the Corvette LS1 engine since its removal from the original car. May look calm and collected, but I was really terrified! Throttle is computer controlled, and I was afraid that any incorrect wiring would cause the car to go redline and tear out of the garage with me hanging on for dear life. From what you see in the video, all went well - just wish I could have run it longer, but I don't have the cooling system installed yet. I hope to get it in soon!

Porsche 944 S2 This is my 1991 Porsche 944 S2 in action, driving fast on german highways and overtaking other cars. Although the youngest Porsche 944 S2 are now 16 years old, you have to spend very much money if you want to buy a modern car that delivers the same or even more driving fun as the Porsche 944. It's my third Porsche 944 video. I captured some hours of film, took the best scenes and added a great soundtrack. The Porsche 944 S2 video was edited using Premiere Elements 3. I tried to sync the cuts with the soundtrack. The 944 S2 has a 3.0L, 211 HP 4-Cyl. Engine, a perfect weight-distribution of nearly 50:50, thanks to the transaxle (front-engine, rear-mounted gearbox). The Porsche 944 S2 has the largest four-cylinder gasoline engine ever used in a production car, as far as i know! (Correct me if i'm wrong!) The body of the Porsche 944 S2 was designed in 1976/1981 and is still able to turn the heads of many people. The Porsche 944 S2 is one of the most underrated sportscars. Fuel consumption of my Porsche 944 S2 on the highway/Autobahn is only 8.5L / 100km!!

1990 944 S2. After about a year of messing around with different combos and adding and removing parts I am finally satisfied. SFR quiet flow catback exhaust, Dynamax high flow cat and Vibrant performance ultra queit flow resonator. The Resonator was excellent at making the car much quieter and sound MUCH better, deeper at the same time. It was difficult to get a good start. Please excuse the lawn trimmer you can hear in the background. Please let me know what you think. I appreciate any feedback.

Porsche 944 Timing Belt Failure & subsequent results. Got a 944 Porsche 2.5lLiter 4 Cylinder. Unfortunately it has an interference head. Some mechanics tried to "fix" it not knowing what "interference" means. They replaced the timing belt and bent the valves even more. They gave up the 2nd time around. Good thing they never finished the job as it would not have worked anyway.
