Cobra XRS 9955, XRS 9960G Dynamic Range Issue
As indicated in my thorough review of the new Cobra dash mount and internal remote radar detectors, I reported that Cobra's have long suffered from having far too high a dynamic range, which tend to make most/every alert even when in close or very close proximity "weaker" in signal strength than is healthy. This video effectively demonstrates this design element of the current Cobra models. Even at point blank range, right along side of the cruiser that had its 35.5Ghz radar unit left on, the Cobra XRS-9955/Cobra XRS-9960G barely managed a reading of 3 (out of a maximum of 5).
