Hello :) These written directions show how to make 2 standard size greeting cards from an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. You can make 2 standard A2 (invitation) cards from a 12x12, OR if you are willing to make a slightly smaller card, you can make 3 cards from a 12x12 paper. (You can make three 4" x 5x5" cards from a 12x12 inch paper.) Standard A2 greeting cards are 4.25" x 5.5". This is exactly 1/2 of a 8.5 x 11 paper, a standard size in the US here used in business, printers, etc. Many craft papers are 8 1/2 x 11 inches making the A2 size a favorite. If you join a swap, this is the size usually expected. Another size growing in popularity is 4" x 5.5". The benefit of 4" x 5.5" is that 4" is a standard mailing size here in the USA. And you can barely tell the difference! Unless you are a crafter and make your own cards lol. (Added bonus -- you can make 3 cards from a 12x12 sheet of cardstock). You can make 2 (two) standard A2 greeting cards from 1 sheet of 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock. Or 2 A2 size cards from a 12x12 page. From a 12x12 piece of paper, cut it down to a 8.5 x 11 or 8x11 first, then follow the rest of the directions. The standard A2 size comes in 2 styles - the most common style opens from 4.25" into 8.5" when open. The 2nd style is 5.5" and opens to 11" when open. The most commen use style is the card that opens from 4.25" to 8.5" across when OPEN. shoshiplatypus.blogspot.com. A hand-made box fitted out with stationery and cards, which I made for my mother for Christmas. There are two sizes of cards inside, each with lined envelopes which co-ordinate with the colour scheme. The cards are decorated with 3-D flower embellishments, and the larger cards have a pocket into which a separate tag can be inserted. The tags are similarly decorated, with mixed fibre tassels, and with different sentiments, to mix and match with the cards to suit the occasion. In the front of the box, which flaps down when the lid is removed, are a notebook, calendar, postage stamps and a pen which I coloured with alcohol inks to co-ordinate with the colour of the project. These items were embellished with circles cut on my Cricut and the text on them was done with the Cricut pens, and their covers stamped with a polka dot stamp. Hello, thank you for watching :) Small business ( or commercial ) envelopes are readily available in my home and at the stores -- even Sams Club, Wal Mart, dollar stores, etc. These small or commercial business envelopes, No. 6 ¾ (who made up that size?) and have a size of 3 3/8" x 6 ½". I have a box of 80 security envelopes by Mead (security -- tinted color inside) with a price tag of 88 cents. Easy to find, I have 2-3 boxes in my house all the time. So why don't I have cards to fit these boxes? Why do I have to make a special trip to the stationary store to buy "specialty" envelopes when I have 200 envelopes at home? Stop the insanity! Lol So I am going to make some cards that fit standard small business size envelopes. And I'm taking you with me LOL. Another benefit of using small business size envelopes is that they fit into mail sorters. This is great for businesses who use sorters to organize their mailings. There is a downside to using these envelopes for cards. The envelope size is commercial and it says "commercial" just looking at. Many people will not mind getting a birthday and present using this standard envelope size -- but specialty envelopes says "special" just by being a different size. AND standard card sizes like A2 are closer to being a square -- giving it more versatility when you decorate. Still, when you need a card NOW the small business envelope is to the rescue! Hello and Thank You for stopping by :) In this vide I show how I make a Disney Princesses card. It is very easy to do! 1) I start with 4x6 mats from the Creative Memories Disney Photo Album Kit. I am sorry to say the kit has sold out on the CM website. But your consultant may have it! I can try to locate it for you as well if you loooove this! 2) Trim the 4x6 inch mat to 4x5.5 inches or smaller. Your choice. Hello and Welcome! I made this video to help the 1st time card maker to make a card at home. To make a card at home you will need: 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Cardstock will give better results than regular paper, but in a pinch it all works. Envelopes! If you have time -- make a trip to Staples or Office Max (not sure Wal Mart will have this) and buy Invitation Size envelopes. Usually the cards are packed as 50 per box. Look to see if you can choose between white and ivory. Buy the cardstock at the same time (or really nice linen paper?) -- don't mix the white and ivory colors if you are a beginner. If you have these invitation size (A2 size -- greater than 4.25 x 5.5 inches) envelopes you can make standard greeting cards.
