Ho yeah. Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2005, there was something called "The VA Jam" - a weekly friendly competition on the voiceacting messageboard I frequent. It was meant to help us hone our skills as actors/mixers/directors etc. One such jam had us adapting several strips from a webcomic of our choosing into audio (or video, if one were so inclined) and that it be no more than 5 minutes long. I choose to do VG Cats, and with a little help of some of my friends (Autumn and Nick Tiner) we did a nice, little clip - one that even made its way to the VG Cats forum community and was quite well-received! And then I promptly forgot about it and went on to other stuff. Couple of years later, I saw that someone had adapted the audio from the VG Cats clip I mixed into a youtube video and I thought "Whoa. That's pretty awesome. I wish I could do that." and then promptly forgot about it and chased after magical rainbows with pots of gold at the end of them. Cut to last month, playing around with Windows Movie Maker (hsssssssssssssss!) I finally figured out "Oh the many snaps! I can do that!" and thus this clip was born! Hotel Mario, a videogame released over a decade ago for a little-known system called the CD-i, is a seemingly unassuming game that has become a YouTube legend through its hilarious and ridiculous cutscenes. This YouTube phenomenon, commonly referred to as 'YouTube Poop' (although not all involved are happy with this moniker), has seen many YouTubers slicing, dicing, and splicing the cutscenes to make fantastically funny videos of absolute madness, in co-operation with a plethora of material from a host of other games and television shows. As a tribute to both Hotel Mario and this legacy, Team Sponkel proudly presents a fully acted out version of all the cutscenes in the game, from start to finish. All music and script is taken from Hotel Mario; everything else here has been created by Team Sponkel. If ya don't know what they say now, you will by the end of the movie. To commemorate the very, very long awaited DVD release of Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet, I have posted the introduction to the feature. I hope that everyone will purchase this 2 disk set. It was released last month. It may, or may not be available at retail stores. The special features, are not great. Along with the introduction, you will get trailers, and the feature commentary. The special 1/2 hour documentary is the same as the one included with the VHS release. I am excited about getting this DVD, because I can now throw away my VCR.

Anyways, after some thought, I decided to make one final Kara no Kyoukai AMV. Anyways, I put a lot of effort into this, so I hope KnK fans will enjoy. I also decided to use a song that wasn't anime related, since someone suggested me to do so awhile back. The song choice I picked was called Omen, and I hope it fit the AMV well. Anyways, Kara no Kyoukai is a great anime. I hope fans of the series enjoyed it as much as I did if not more.

Alice in Wonderland (1903)
The first-ever film version of Lewis Carroll's tale has recently been restored by the BFI National Archive from severely damaged materials. Made just 37 years after Lewis Carroll wrote his novel and eight years after the birth of cinema, the adaptation was directed by Cecil Hepworth and Percy Stow, and was based on Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations. In an act that was to echo more than 100 years later, Hepworth cast his wife as the Red Queen, and he himself appears as the Frog Footman. Even the Cheshire cat is played by a family pet. With a running time of just 12 minutes (8 of which survive), Alice in Wonderland was the longest film produced in England at that time. Film archivists have been able to restore the film's original colours for the first time in over 100 years. Music: 'Jill in the Box', composed and performed by Wendy Hiscocks. This restoration was supported by The Headley Trust and The Pilgrim Trust.
