Alamgir Dekha na tha old version

Alamgir was born in 1954, in East Pakistan (modern-day Bangladesh) into a Bengali family. His father Farmuzal Haq was a politician, and part of the "All India Muslim League"; a political party in British India that developed into the driving force behind the creation of Pakistan as a Muslim state on the Indian subcontinent. He studied in Mirzapur Cadet College, Tangail, East Pakistan. He briefly studied in BAF Shaheen College, Dhaka, East Pakistan. At the age of around 15, he moved to Karachi, West Pakistan in search of a future in the music industry. He had brought nothing else with him but a guitar and a passion to sing. He settled in the PECHS area of Karachi and started singing in the evenings at a small cafe called "Cafe D Khan" on Tariq Road. He would not get paid for his gig, but did get a free meal each day. The cafe was famous for its intellectual gatherings and that is where he was spotted. His remuneration was a free meal at the hotel.Someone from the audience in the hotel liked his Guitar playing and told him about the programme at the TV station called Ferozan where Khushbakht Aliya was conducting a show for the youth. He gave his audition, Khushbakht liked his Guitar playing but she had already selected someone else. It just so happened that Sohail Rana, the music director was in the next studio and asked someone to call Alamgir to his car outside the TV station. He said, he liked his (Alamgir's) playing and asked if he would like to perform for children ...

Alamgir - The legend lives on - 1st cut

Alamgir - the legend lives on - Muslims' America - Imran Siddiqui - VOA News - Washington - I'm waiting to hear the crowd scream...Alamgir is back, Alamgir is back...these were the words of the man who introduced Pakistan to pop music Alamgir. Also known as the Elvis of Asia, Alamgir who sings in 17 languages is coming back to the music scene after a decade of silence, which according to him was partly due to his two decade of hectic life, and most importantly due to his heath condition. Alamgir is suffering from rare kidney disease that he inherited form his mother, now fighting for his life as he goes through dialysis three days a week, he is waiting for a kidney transplant due in early 2012. The Pakistani American community in solidarity with Alamgir is raising funds to assist him for his upcoming transplant. Recently a non profit group Shifa Foundation organized a live performance and a fund raiser for Alamgir in Virgina, Urdu VOA met up with him where he said he's a got a message for the people of Pakistan, "I'm coming back."

The earliest recorded mention of Dubai is in 1095, and the earliest settlement known as Dubai town dates from 1799. Dubai was formally established in 1833 by Sheikh Maktoum bin Buti al Maktoum when he persuaded 800 members of the Bani Yas tribe, living in what is now part of Saudi Arabia, to follow him to the Dubai Creek by the Al Abu Falasa clan of Bani Yas, and it remained under clan control when the United Kingdom assumed the protection of Dubai in 1892.[6] Its geographical location made it an important trading hub and by the beginning of the 20th century, it was an important port. In 1966, the year oil was discovered, Dubai and the emirate of Qatar set up a new monetary unit to replace the Gulf Rupee. The oil economy led to a massive influx of foreign workers, quickly expanding the city by 300% and bringing in international oil interests. The modern emirate of Dubai was created after the UK left the area in 1971. At this time Dubai, together with Abu Dhabi and four other emirates, formed the United Arab Emirates. The following year Ras al Khaimah joined the federation while Qatar and Bahrain chose to remain independent nations. In 1973, the monetary union with Qatar was dissolved and the UAE Dirham introduced throughout the UAE. A free trade zone was built around the Jebel Ali port in 1979, allowing foreign companies unrestricted import of labor and export capital. The Gulf War of 1990 had a negative financial effect on the city, as depositors withdrew their money and ...
