Ben Ainslie has been confirmed by the BOA (British Olympic Association) as one of the first athletes to be selected to be part of Team GB for the 2012 London Olympic Games. After a hard fought qualification battle against some very talented British sailors Ainslie will now get his chance to compete for his fifth Olympic medal and fourth gold at successive Olympic Games. Safely tucked away, deep inside these cross fading images resides Naradan the Bat. A vision of an atrophic and blackened air born menace forced to roam the land scape for all eternity. As a 10 year old child this nightmarish incarnation scared the christ out of me, the horrifying story behind it served no sanctuary. This and other Ainslie Robert's images from "Dreamtime Book" have remained deeply etched in my subconscious. This is a collective tribute to the white Australian who not only captured the black Australian's stories for eternity but was able to give them vision and depth with extraordinary works of art. My only real experience of aboriginal culture before seeing Ainslie Robert's work was seeing the sad and shattered remnants of a race, drunken and dirty sitting around shops in central Australia. The Dreamtime book and others in the series told a different story. An insite to an astonishing ancient culture that survived for thousands of years in perfect harmony with the flora and fauna around it. Harmony in this case meant man was an insignificant influence on the world and at its mercy. His paintings are populated with aboriginals who are often savage victims and fodder of a world that is beyond mans control. This view of sacrificial man was a repeated theme in Ainslie Robert's work and the text that accompanied them. The Ainslie circuit built from the Quantum article, using the 555 timer. Still I am using the 2sk1548 mosfet, but that doesn't have anything to do with what I found and what I illustrate in this video. All probes are positioned as specified in the Ainslie EIT paper and the Quantum article. The 555 timer is constructed exactly according to the diagram in that article. NOTE: Ainslie now acknowledges (I almost said "admits") that the Quantum circuit is in error. That is, the Quantum circuit as published is WRONG and was not used to make the data reported in that paper (or the report of the same experiment in the EIT paper.) Since the EIT.pdf paper is supposedly a report of the SAME EXPERIMENT but shows a different circuit, there is considerable doubt about just exactly what circuit was used by Ainslie. Since she is asking for replications, I ask back: What was the circuit you wanted replicated? If the EIT.pdf one, how was it clocked, and can you assure us that it was clocked "correctly", that is, at a true 3.7 percent ON duty cycle---like by providing a scope shot from the experiment. Otherwise it would seem that one would pretty much have to assume that the same error was made, whatever the circuit actually used. And of course this invalidates the power level calculations, as they did not use the standard method of integrating the instantaneous power waveform over a suitable time period--they used a manual method that manually input the duty cycle, as far as I can tell from <b>...</b>

I tried the unmodified Ainslie circuit on a small motor. It works great! Maybe even better than a commercial PWM circuit I have using a controller chip. When I switch the recirculating diode in and out, an interesting thing occurs. The Ainslie load is out of the circuit; in its place is the motor, with the 18v instrument bulb in parallel. With no diode, I set the pulse width at around 50 percent using the FG. The bulb is a certain brightness and the motor sound indicates a certain rpm. When I switch the diode into the circuit, the bulb gets dimmer and the motor goes faster. Either the 1n4007 or the MUR1100, they both produce the effect, perhaps the 4007 a bit more. I would say that so far, this is the most interesting "physical" effect that I have noticed with this circuit. Of course, there are many interesting "psychological" effects as well. I've already done my part in demonstrating them, on the various forums where I have encountered Rosemary Ainslie.
