US air show standards are the highest, but this was a case of systemic disregard for safety. Since this crash, the bar has been set higher more enforcement and awareness. It bothers me to see some other counties still have very poor safety at major air shows. The former soviet block has had several crashes that I would consider safety neglect a factor, if not the cause. Aerobatics should not be done over crowds. Aerobatics should be kept in a safe margin away from the crowd and to some extent the flight line. I even frown on extremely low passes over crowds. Pilots and management/command should have restraint from flying planes to extreme limits <b>...</b>

This is the USMC Silent Drill Platoon when they visited the US Marine Air Station in Beaufort, SC. I happened to be there with my camera. The exhibition was scheduled to be held on the parade field. However, it was moved inside a jet fighter hanger due to rain. Shot with one camera (GY-HD100) in a fixed location. The only editing was to add a title page and take out a few camera movements. DVD: www.amazon.com CONELRAD (Control of Electromagnetic Radiation) was a method of emergency broadcasting to the public of the United States in the event of enemy attack during the Cold War. It was intended to serve two purposes; to prevent Soviet bombers from homing in on American cities by using radio or TV stations as beacons, and to provide essential civil defense information. US President Harry S. Truman established CONELRAD in 1951. After the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles reduced the likelihood of a bomber attack, CONELRAD was replaced by the Emergency Broadcast System on August 5, 1963, which was later replaced with the Emergency Alert System in 1997; all were administered by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Unlike its successors, the EBS and EAS, CONELRAD was never used for nor intended to be used for severe weather warnings or local civil emergencies. Prior to 1951, there was no method that the US government could use to broadcast warnings to citizens in the event of an emergency. However, radio stations and networks could interrupt normal programming and issue a bulletin in the event of an emergency, as happened during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, as well as the first successful tornado warning near Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City in 1948. North Korea Television- Station opening for afternoon broadcasting, part of news and mini drama
Sample of North Korean TV recorded off-air live during a trip there in August 2011. This was the station as received in our hotel. This is the opening of the station for the afternoon broadcast followed by end of a news report and followed by some sort of mini drama. Some additional info on the content of the programmes as received from 'Ryuikhan': Just for people who don't understand Korean, the news section is entirely talking about the artillery attack on Yeonpyeong-do, and accusing the South and the USA of provoking the attack first, saying that their army will not be intimidated. It ends with "our DPRK will march ceaselessly towards a unified Korean Peninsula" LOOOL the drama, the man hasn't seen the older one in years and invites him into his home. He talks to the older man about "soonae" who the older man assumes he is referring to his daughter. Saying that "soonae" is very smart, and can also sing very well. The old man asks him to bring "soonae" to sing for him (it is common in north Korea for children to sing for adults when they visit). The younger man says that "soonae" says it's too early in the day to sing for him. So, the old man decides to talk to "soonae" for himself. Then he walks into the room where the man's family is and calls for "soonae". Then when the man's wife turns around, the old man says "no, i was calling for 'soonae'". The younger man quickly comes in and says that "soonae" is actually his wife's name. All of them embarassed, the old man <b>...</b>

I love these songs by The Moody Blues, Declan Galbraith and Il Divo so much that they inspired me to make this slideshow of the pics I took of my Nice-Niece's daughters. The last song is my own daughter growing up, with most pics taken by her and her high school friends. I first learned of "side-light" as a student at the US Navy School of Photography, NAS Pensacola, Florida (Home of the Blue Angels.) I then practiced the art of "side" light as an active duty "Scientific and Technical Photographer with Aerial Certification" (Aircrew) at the "Winter Home of the Blue Angels" in southern California. For civilian and military Engineers, "Side" light brings out details of a "scientific and technical nature" that cannot be recorded on film using "FLAT" light. FLAT light is the type of lighting caused when the sun or other "main light source" is BEHIND or ON the camera (as in a camera-mounted flash) or from "ambient" light caused by an overcast day or when the subject is in any "shaded area" of a scene. Remember this: "FLAT" light makes the face look "FAT," "FLAT" and "WIDE," which is extremely unflattering. You have probably heard of actors fighting for "good" lighting, where "bad" lighting is usually "flat" (in FRONT of their face), or "below" their face, such as that used in "scary" movies. Spacex Falcon 9 Rocket Performs Launch Dress Rehearsal
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was rolled to the company's Space Launch Complex 40 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., on April 29. The rocket then was lifted into place for a static fire test of the rocket's Merlin engines on April 30. Time lapse video also captured the preparations for the launch rehearsal on April 29. During the test, SpaceX engineers ran through all countdown processes as though it were launch day. The exercise ended with all nine engines firing at full power for two seconds. The test validated systems for the upcoming launch of Falcon 9 on a demonstration mission as part of NASA's plan for private companies to launch cargo safely to the International Space Station.
