Kottayilachan was a gifted singer, blessed poet, writer, preacher and respected teacher of Holy Jacobite Syrian Church as well. Though our Lord had given him a lot of talents which he used for His Glory alone, Achen never used to show up or boast. In the wonderful liturgical services where he has associated with (especially at the various services led by LL HE Mor Gregoriose Geevarghese Perumpllil Thirumeni)he always preferred to be at the back, though nobody could go away from them without noticing the beautiful singing of Kottayilachan. His knowledge of the Syriac and its melodies were excellent. And he was much loved and respected by all in the MSOT seminary. His deep faith in God and its proclamation through the numerous convention speeches was inspiring. He was really a flute used by our Lord to sing His glories. And his unflinching loyalty to the bishop who has ordained him...

Kadheeshath Aloho is the angelic hymn. The eastern orthodox church fathers have set 16 modes for this hymn other than 8 in common. In fact there are only 8 modes , but each mode has two tunes, one for in the evening worship and one for in the morning worship.
