Where The Pyramid Meets The Eye - Sire/Warner Bros. 1990 John Wesley Harding and the Good Liars' cover (and the best version ever of) Roky Erickson's "If You Have Ghosts". The entire song refers to the effects of LSD. "If you have ghosts, than you have everything" and "one never does that" means you must take more than one to have "ghosts". "When Erickson's legal problems came to a head in the late 1980s, longtime fan and Sire Records executive Bill Bentley assembled Where the Pyramid Meets the Eye: A Tribute to Roky Erickson to raise money for Erickson, as well as drawing attention to the unique beauty of his music."-cd universe Backing Vocals, Handclaps - Andy Paley , Ghost Choir, Bass - Bruce Thomas Drums - Pete Thomas Guitar - Steve Donnelly Organ - Kenny Craddock Producer - Andy Paley Vocals, Acoustic Guitar - John Wesley Harding Written-By - Roky Erickson The video is a segment of Faust 1926.

Jason and Randy Sklar said "no" to the man and went on to Curb, Entourage and their podcast Sklarbro Country. We talked sports, bad auditions, life on and off the road. And great actor/singer Toby Huss from the upcoming film "Cowboys and Aliens" and Kahn on King of The Hill, told us about life in the slow lane of his home town in Iowa, then was joined by musician Andy Paley for a pornographic song dedicated to Ed.

This song is from Dick Tracy. A 1990 soundtrack album to the film of the same name. It features songs written by Andy Paley and performed by such diverse musicians and singers as kd lang, Jerry Lee Lewis, Brenda Lee, Tommy Page, August Darnell, Patti Austin, Erasure, Ice-T, LaVern Baker, Al Jarreau, Darlene Love and Paley himself. Most of the songs on the album are performed in the style of the music of the 1930s, the era in which the film is set, with the exception of more modern performances such as a rock and roll version of Lewis' "It Was the Whiskey Talkin' (Not Me)" and a "90's Mix" of Ice-T's "Dick Tracy". Six of the album's sixteen tracks were not featured in the film: "The Confidence Man", "Dick Tracy", "Slow Rollin' Mama", "Mr. Fix It (1930's Version)", "Mr. Fix It" and "Dick Tracy ('90s Mix)". A month after the release of the soundtrack album, Ice-T released a single titled "Dick Tracy" which featured a different song from the one featured on the album. The album is one of three soundtracks released for the film, the others being Madonna's I'm Breathless album, and an orchestral score by Danny Elfman.

"The Rising Storm - Calm Before...- 1967 US" "The Rising Storm-Alive Again At Andover -1982 US": In 1967, the Rising Storm, a garage rock band comprised of six guys attending a prep school in Andover, Massachusetts, went into a local studio and cut an album, largely because they were going to graduate in a few months and wanted to document themselves before they broke up. Years later, that album, Calm Before , had become a much sought after collector's item among garage rock obsessives. So in 1982, the Rising Storm were minor league celebrities, having been persuaded to do some club shows in Boston a few months earlier in the wake of their rediscovery, when they agreed to play a set for the occasion of their fifteenth-year high school reunion (with original bassist Todd Cohen replaced by fan Andy Paley). "Alive Again At Andover" is a historical live album recorded during a show the band played at a Phillips Academy 15th Class Reunion at Andover, MA. The band only plays one of its original tunes in the live show, but after the passage of 15 years the Rising Storm still sound like themselves and it captures the spirit of the group's first era with commendable accuracy. -by dj fanis: The Rising Storm - Calm Before... - 1967 US LINK :sharebee.com The Rising Storm-Alive Again At Andover -1982 US LINK: www.shareonall.com

Don't Give Up on Me is a studio album by R&B/Soul singer Solomon Burke, recorded and released in 2002 on Fat Possum Records. The album won the MOJO Award for Album of the Year, as well as the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album. It is noteworthy for the contributions of original and previously unreleased compositions by top-rank songwriters, the effect of which placed Burke back in the public eye for a time. Guest stars are Daniel Lanois, who plays electric guitar on "Stepchild", and The Blind Boys of Alabama, who feature on backing vocals for "None of Us Are Free". "None of Us Are Free" was also featured at the end of the sixth episode (Spin) of the second season of House. "Fast Train" was featured during the ending montage of the season three finale of The Wire. The title track, written by the team of Dan Penn and Carson Whitsett with Hoy Lindsey, gained popularity (and introduced Burke to a new generation) when it was used several times on the teen soap opera The OC It has been covered by Joe Cocker, as well as Peter Gallagher.

"Come Out And Play" is taken from the Paley Brothers self titled album in 1978... "Come Out And Play" was produced by Jimmy Iovine ( American Idol ) & is a "Power Pop" masterpiece in my opinion that couldve easily been on any Rubinoos album.... Why the Paley Brothers album didnt sell in the millions in 1978 is a mystery to me, but, it fell to the way side like so many "Power Pop" groups did in the mid / late 1970's....."Rubinoos,,Pezband,,Off Broadway,,Cheap Trick,,Scooters,,Shoes...." Well, at least the Paley Brothers got alot of exsposure in the teen mags of the day like..." 16 Magazine,,Rock Scene " & the Paley Brothers opened for Shaun Cassidy at Madison Square Garden on August 26th 1978....

From the album Louis Philippe -- A Kiss in the Funhouse +++Born in 1959, Louis Philippe first recorded for Belgian label Les Disques du Crepuscule, under the names 'The Border Boys' (the 'Tribute' 12" EP, produced by Andy Paley, who'd worked with The Ramones and the Modern Lovers previously), and 'The Arcadians' (one single and one album, 'It's a Mad, Mad World', 1986, later re-released on a variety of labels as 'Let's Pretend'). On the advice of A&R man Mike Alway, Louis Philippe moved to London in late 1986, and soon became one of the major figures of cult indie label él Records (1986-1989), a subsidiary of Cherry Red Records for which he recorded five singles and three albums ('Appointment With Venus', 1987; 'Ivory Tower', 1988; 'Yuri Gagarin', 1989). He also appeared in one guise or another - as songwriter, arranger, backing vocalist or instrumentalist - on more than half of all the label's releases. él, now considered to be one of the most influential labels of its time, was, however, not a commercial success in the UK; but it scored a string of independent hits in Japan, where Louis Philippe (whose 'You Mary You' was él's best-selling single) became an iconic figure for the so-called Shibuya-kei, or 'Shibuya Sound'. Following the demise of él in 1989, he turned to Japan to pursue his career, with the support of celebrity fans such as Cornelius. A number of albums followed, all of them released on the über-chic Trattoria label: 'Rainfall', 1991; 'Jean Renoir', 1992 ...
