1996 independent film directed by Mary Harron in her first feature-length movie. Stockholm, Seattle, and Sundance Film Festival favorite on account of Lily Taylor's performance in her break-out role. Docudrama about Valerie Solanas (Lily Taylor) and her time in New York City in the 60s as a guerrilla playwright and rabid anti-male feminist, all the while supporting herself through begging and prostitution. While working on her infamous SCUM Manifesto she attaches herself to Andy Warhol (Jared Harris) and his cadre of artists at the Factory Studio, trying to get him to produce her play. Eventually, paranoia and delusions of persecution set in when Valerie takes it on upon herself to assassinate Andy Warhol in a frantic attempt to take control of her life and work.
