Lauri of The Rasmus and Anette Olzon of Nightwish were interviewed for "Ne Salmiset" -show on the Finnish MTV3 channel, Saturday 28.11.2009. After the interview they performed the song "October & April". The song was born at the end of the 90's by the name "Don't Shut The Door" for The Rasmus. Later the lyrics were re-written, strings added, and the overall tone changed to more serious, resulting in the song "October & April". Originally Tarja Turunen was asked for the duet, but since she refused, it took years until the guys of The Rasmus gave the song another chance, this time with Anette Olzon, and the result is such a beautiful ballad. The song Lauri is referring to in the interview as the very first inspiration is called "Päivänsäde ja Menninkäinen", an old traditional Finnish childrens' song from 1949 (re-recorded in 1965). English subtitles included where necessary.
