Preview of Anthony Hopkins' Waltz. Actor Anthony Hopkins has written music for many years, but the 'Thor' co-star composed his latest piece, "And The Waltz Goes On," with Rieu specifically in mind to perform it. André Rieu was so enthusiastic about the work that he immediately set plans in motion to record it, reportedly moving Hopkins' wife to tears during the initial performance of the tune. "I've been a great admirer of Andre Rieu for several years. He's a great musician. My wife and I had the same dream of meeting him one day, so I've send him some music that I wrote. It's a dream come true for me that Andre performed it with his orchestra. I'm totally knocked out by the result. It's even more than I expected!" says Anthony Hopkins about his cooperation with André Rieu. The waltz will be on Rieu's new album and will be performed by Rieu while on tour in the USA, Canada and Mexico this fall. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently told EW that plans were developing fast for the sequel, which he said would "take Thor literally to other worlds." He also explained that while Movie goers will see Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-swinging hero in The Avengers next May, Thor 2 would "primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman and how the new dynamic with his father (Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins) is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds," . And for those of you who don't kow, The Nine Worlds are the different planes of existence, of which Earth is one, that Thor and his Asgardian people recognize. We are thinking the exisstantce of the 9 worlds leaves the possibility of creating all new intergalactic heros and villians which could literally take future story lines anywhere! www.greenpeace.org The Japanese government continues to hunt whales in an internationally agreed whale sanctuary under the guise of 'scientific research.' This year, they aimed to kill almost 1000 whales. Greenpeace sent its ship Esperanza to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary in January to confront the whalers, but this was preempted by a deadly fire onboard the Japanese whaling fleet's whale processing ship which threatened the pristine Antarctic environment and cut short the whaling season. Japan's total take of whales from the Southern Ocean in 2006 was 505 minke whales and 3 endangered fin whales. Next year, they intend to add endangered humpback whales to their target list.
