Copyright Discovery Channel From Wikipedia The An-225 Mriya (Ukrainian: Антонов Ан-225 Мрія, NATO reporting name: Cossack) is a strategic airlift transport aircraft which was built by the Antonov Design Bureau, and is the largest flying airplane ever built. The design, built to transport the Buran orbiter, was an enlargement of the successful An-124 Ruslan. Mriya (Мрія) means "Dream" (Inspiration) in Ukrainian. Two An-225s have been produced. The Antonov An-225 is commercially available for flying any over-sized payload due to the unique size of its cargo deck. Currently there is only one aircraft operating but a second mothballed airframe is being reconditioned and is scheduled for completion around late 2008. Part 2: www.youtube.com

Antonov 225 in Mobile Alabama. The "Antonov AN-225 "Mriya" is the world's largest aircraft. It has payload capacity of 250 tonnes and was designed and manufactured at OKAntonov ASTC in 1988. Unlike any other commercially available aircraft, the An-225 has the ability to carry external loads of up to 90 tonnes mounted on its "roof rack" also. The An-225 was designed for the Soviet space program as a replacement for the Myasishchev VM-T 'Atlant'. Antonov 225 ( HERPA AN-225 model )

A model of the biggest aircraft in the world , bigger than the A380 and longer than the Wright brothers first flight. It was designed and registered in the Ukrainian it was built for the transportation of the Russian Space Shuttle "Buran" which was later scraped after the fall of the Soviet Union. An-225 "Mriya" ("Mriya" is Ukrainian word for "dream) is also capable to transport other oversized objects/cargo. It is not a military aircraft, but it could find many military uses, because of the ability to transport cargo that no other aircraft is capable to. Furthermore big sections of aircraft could be transported in it. The complete assembled fuselage of a Boeing 737 can be fitted in the hold. A second An-225 was partly built, but became stored before it was finished. Early 2002 Antonov was working again on this second aircraft to bring it to flying status. It is possible that more aircraft of the type will be built, depending on market. An-225 Weights Max. take off weight -- 600000kg An-225 Performance Max. Antonov-225 Landing at SVAS in FSX - 707 Productions

Here is the world's former largest aircraft, landing in a glitched airport in FSX. The Elevation difference I believe is around 2000-3000 Ft. The hardest thing about this landing is the fact that once you touch down and hit the asphalt, there is literaly no go-around. You have no choice. (Video not Audio) Copyright 2008 707 Producitons
